I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 15 years of experience serving clients from a range of backgrounds and dealing with a variety of challenges, including depression, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, low self-esteem, substance dependence, ADHD, ODD, anger issues, and family and relational conflicts. Much of my experience has focused on youth and families, however I also enjoy working with adults of all ages.
As a therapist, I draw heavily on CBT, ACT, mindfulness, and motivational strategies, however I am strongly relational in my approach and believe deeply in the power of authentic compassion and nonjudgmental acceptance for facilitating growth and change in clients. Personally, I am very easy-going and like to bring fun and humor into sessions when appropriate, something for which my clients often express appreciation.
The clients I work with are typically bright, sensitive, and highly capable individuals who either have not yet discovered their potential or haven’t figured out how to overcome the mental or emotional barriers holding them back. My goal as a therapist is to help clients gain the insight and skills needed to overcome obstacles, connect with their authentic selves, and realize their full potentials.
