Working with Susan has been a completely different experience than I’ve had in the past—in a good way. She’s easy to talk to. She listens closely, but also knows when to step in and offer something useful. I never felt like I had to explain myself over and over. She just got it.
There’s a calmness and clarity to the way she works, and I felt safe enough to talk about things I’d been avoiding for a long time. EMDR was something I was skeptical about, but it ended up being one of the most helpful parts of this whole process. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I didn’t expect therapy to feel like this.
I feel more like myself again. That’s enough for now. And I’m really grateful.
