Guided by my belief that authentic, meaningful relationships drive high quality care, I founded graymatters medical practice, where I have been fortunate to work with colleagues who share my passion and vision. All of our clinicians are either Columbia or NYU trained, board certified, clinicians with broad training in psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. We communicate regularly so that we can benefit from a team approach where we are continually learning from each other.
We partner with our patients and families to first treat psychiatric symptoms, and then move into a preventative approach. We help our patients, both kids or adults, to discover and build on their own strengths, educate them about the science behind how their brains work, and then provide them with the necessary tools to become their own health expert. We refuse to believe that my patients cannot get better, and work tirelessly with you to help you build a better life. We don't just treat mental illness, but instead, promote wellness to empower patients to prevent mental health challenges and build better, lives.

Dr. Tejal is wonderfully warm & compassionate. She did have a unique approach to psychiatry that probably wasn't right for me. She blends therapy in so you have long sessions, more in depth care, homework assignments and suggestions for work in between visits. This approach is probably fantastic for many people, but for me I ultimately realized that I wanted my therapy to be separate and more in depth and just needed a psychiatrist. She's also very open about the fact that this is how she practises.

Very attentive, intelligent, helpful, compassionate. Abreast with tech and also uses email to consult/help, and online prescriptions to order meds from your pharmacy of choice, and so on.

Dr. Kaur was extremely attentive and experienced. It has taken me years to find a psychatrist in the city who cares about my well being and who I feel comfortable with. I highly reccomend her to anyone who is looking for a doctor who is willing to give their patients the attention that they need!

Dr. Kaur is an outstanding psychiatrist and I would recommend her to family and friends without reservation. She has a great bedside manner and truly cares about her patients. She takes the time to know you as a person, is easy to talk to and overall the kind of doctor you can really feel comfortable putting your trust in. A psychiatrist myself, I feel truly blessed to have been her patient. I came to her at a most difficult time in my life and she helped me more than any other doctor. Highly recommended.
