My name is Tolana Murphy. I have a 28 year background of education and care providing as a Licensed Practical Nurse. For the last 10 years I have shifted my practice to counseling. Patients that I have cared for were being treated with multiple medications for anxiety, depression, and symptoms of trauma. Though pharmacotherapy can be effective, I chose help people reduce symptoms and resolve life issues through spirituality, behavioral changes, and utilizing personal skills developed through therapy and in conjunction with medications as needed. I use modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy to name a few. My focus is always person-centered and curtailing therapy to meet the person where they are without judgement. I empower people to regulate their own physical and emotional well-beings and to be their best selves in every aspect of living.
