Hi, my name is Torian, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Alfred University. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults in school, community mental health, and private practice settings for the last five years. I specialize in providing psychotherapy to Black women and other women of color who need assistance navigating life within their intersections of identity. I also work with young people struggling to navigate emerging adulthood and asking themselves what they want to accomplish in life. I help individuals who are realizing they don’t want to live up to unrealistic expectations of productivity and achievement. If you are stressed, unhappy, angry, or simply need an unbiased ear to listen, I would like to be of service to you.
Therapy is extremely personal, and I work with clients to process their emotions and explore which direction they want their path to turn next, no matter how long that takes. I believe in being empathetic and deliberate in the therapeutic experience. I hope my clients feel a great deal of comfort with me because it’s my job to provide a space that allows them to let their guards down gradually. I want you to remember that you have autonomy in this space, and the process is completely for you. I tend to say, “You are the driver of this car. I’m just here to help you not crash.” Hopefully, you feel safe enough to trust me with the journey.
