Hi there, I'm Vanessa!
Hello, My name is Vanessa Escalante Mejia and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California. I have worked with clients from a broad range of ages both in person and via Telehealth. My area of practice has been using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness Therapy with clients that experience anxiety, depression, and traumas.
My approach
My approach to therapy varies per client. This is the main reason why I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy because it helps to bring the focus to thoughts and altering behaviors that need to be addressed in order to progress with symptoms.
My focus
I have typically worked with adult clients from 18 years to 80 years of age. I have gathered extensive experience with different life stages and challenges of life transitions. I work to help my clients navigate through their stages and difficulties to be able to develop coping skills that can help them.
My communication style
My communication style is accommodating and understanding. I want my clients to be able to develop a well-established therapeutic relationship with me to be able to obtain the best from every therapy session.
My first session with you
I want my clients to expect from our first session, a safe space for them to vent and to talk about their current stressors. I want to fully listen and understand my client in order to better help.
