Introducing Vanessa, LCPC, CADC, and Director of Clinical Compliance. She specializes in working with individuals and couples ages 14-70 with a variety of presenting issues, including Addictions/ Substance Abuse, Anger Management, Anxiety, Grief/Loss, LGBTQ+ Issues, Stress Management, and Trauma/PTSD.
Vanessa brings a wealth of education and experience to both therapy sessions and clinical leadership at Counseling Works. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Certified AODA Counselor, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with a Masters of Education in Community Counseling from DePaul University. Vanessa combines compassion, humor, and cognitive reframing with a variety of treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, and Strengths-Based Therapy. As Director of Clinical Compliance, Vanessa also focuses on providing ethically based client care and streamlining company processes.
Since she was a teenager, Vanessa has been fascinated by the field of psychology and wanted to learn more about mental health and addiction. Providing emotional support to others always came naturally to her. She is genuine and compassionate, allowing her personality to come through so clients can see that she is real and authentic. This creates space for clients to show their true and authentic selves. She tailors her counseling style to meet the needs of each client, and challenges them to be the agents of change in their lives.
In her free time, Vanessa enjoys cooking, baking, and watching true crime documentaries. Traveling is another one of her passions, and it is her goal to visit all 50 states!
