Hi there, I'm Voltrina!
My name is Trina Williams and I am a licensed LCSW for the states of Georgia, South Carolina, Florida (telehealth only), and Arkansas. I have a master's degree from the University of South Carolina and 25-plus years of experience working in the fields of mental health, adoption, crisis intervention, foster care, education, and hospice. I have supervised professional-level staff, trained adult learners, and taught youth in a special-needs classroom.
My approach
When you are ready to put in some real work on discovering yourself, please feel free to join my caseload. I do a lot of affirmation therapy, CBT, and motivational interviewing. I hope to see you in session soon!
My focus
I specialize in providing therapy services to the LGBTIA+ community and their allies, as well as women and people of color. I want you to feel empowered, and I will use cognitive behavioral techniques and education to teach you better ways to manage day-to-day stress and anxiety. I will hold you accountable and I will have you focused on therapy, not just on therapy day. You will do as much work on your well-being and recovery outside of session as I will help you within session. I strive to create a safe space for you to simply be and heal, and I hope that as you embark on your unique journey of growth and discovery, you will feel comfortable with me as the therapist by your side guiding you to feeling better every day.
My communication style
I believe in direct communication and meeting people where they are. While we will always maintain therapeutic boundaries, our communication does not have to be overly professional or stuffy. You be you, and I will be me. I usually find that my authenticity meshes well with my clients.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always wanted to be a social worker. I went to college and gained my BSW and MSW to work with foster children in the adoption field. I eventually transitioned to hospice.
