About Dr. Shad Hanis
I love being an orthodontist. Every morning I look forward to coming to the office and helping each of my patients achieve a wonderful smile that they can love. My journey began in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where I was born while my parents attended graduate school at the University of Michigan. One year later, my family moved to Houston. After graduation, I returned home to Houston to attend the University of Texas Dental Branch, where I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
I love learning new things and serving others. I was blessed to serve an LDS church mission in Campinas, Brazil, for two years and became fluent in Portuguese. I am also proud to be an Eagle Scout, an Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society member, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. I strive to uphold the highest standards in both my personal and professional life.
I love my family. During college, I met my sweetheart, Amy, and we are now the proud parents of five beautiful children: Hailey, Zach, Chloe, Molly, and Ellie. Although being a dad is my favorite thing in the world, I also enjoy bike riding, skiing, fishing, riding roller coasters, photography, swimming, and coaching my kids’ sports teams.
We love calling Katy our home, and it is wonderful to live and practice in this great community. I am grateful to be part of the lives of so many kids and families and commit myself to providing beautiful smiles, a caring attitude, a good example, and being a friend to all. I know that every smile counts, and I would love the opportunity and privilege of getting to know you and your family.

Dr Hanis and his staff were super friendly and very professional. You could tell everyone was happy to work there which gave the office a warm and inviting atmosphere. I was looking for a dentist who was patient with children, and people from my neighbourhood Facebook group recommended this office. Wow! It was better than I expected. They explain every single step in advance to my son, he was so calm that he gave as many smiles as he was asking for. They also have free hot chocolate (the best part, according to my son) and free arcade machines. The team was very professional, and I liked how the doctor handled my son's diagnosis. They didn't push a treatment.

I felt high pressure to sign up for Invisalign and a payment plan before the orthodontist had even looked at my child’s teeth. I was unclear if my child truly needed braces. I would go for a second opinion.

Brought my daughter in for an Ortho consultation. Everyone was friendly and organized. I loved the technology used and the Orthodontist was very friendly and clearly communicated treatment needs. We started my daughter's treatment the same day. Flexible payment options were a plus as well.
The ortho assistants and all supporting staff were great! Highly recommend!

The office is so nice and spacious making it easy to social distance. They have a row of arcade games for the kids and then hand sanitizer everywhere for after use. The team member assisting us was so friendly with my son. I was very impressed with their customer service. The dentist was also very nice and explained everything.

Our visit was for an initial consultation. Dr Hanis was easy to talk to and was able to explain in language we could all understand the steps we should take. There was no pressure regarding his services. Kristin, our coordinator was wonderful to talk to and was able to answer all our questions with regards to treatment and payment options.

Amazing, the doctors were so sweet, everyone in the office were so kind and polite. It feels like home because everyone in the office treats us like family. Thank you Stevenson and Hanis orthodontics for all you have done for me over the past couple of years. I've been coming here since elementary school, and now I am in 9th grade =)

I loved this office from the first phone call. They are warm and welcoming. My kids had a great experience and they have beautiful smiles, thanks to Dr. Hanis. I have had other orthodontists for my other kids and Dr. Hanis is the best.
