After completing his Dental Medical Doctorate (D.M.D.) degree at Harvard and scoring one of the top scores in the nation on his dental board exam, Dr. Gupta returned to the University of Michigan for a 3-year residency to become a specialist in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. During his orthodontic residency, Dr. Gupta did research examining the airway in cleft lip and cleft palate patients using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). He graduated from the University of Michigan with a Master of Science degree in Orthodontics.
Dr. Gupta is not only a specialist in orthodontics but is also Board Certified in Orthodontics. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Only approximately 25% of all orthodontists are Board Certified. Certification as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics signifies a unique achievement—a large step beyond the three years of advanced education required for a dentist to become a specialist in orthodontics. Candidates are required to demonstrate actual accomplishments in patient care with detailed case reports on the treatment provided for a broad range of patient problems. Board certification is not required to be an orthodontist and is a unique honor following a process by which an individual orthodontist is thoroughly examined by an expert panel as to orthodontic knowledge and clinical skills.
Dr. Gupta stays up-to-date on the latest advances in orthodontics by regularly attending national and international conferences. Dr. Gupta is a member of the local chapter of the respected Seattle Study Club where he and other dental specialists and general dentists discuss complicated, interdisciplinary cases.

This was one of the most pleasant/satisfactory visits I have ever had with a care provider. The office was super nice, offering coffee, tea, sparkling and non-sparkling water. Every person who worked with me was wonderful, not just nice, wonderful, and I interacted with four people. The Doctor spend so much time with me and answered all of my questions. There was no "hard sell" on treatments but very direct/clear info on what it would cost. It was just such a lovely experience. Every now and then you have an experience where you just explicitly trust the people who are offering the service. This was one of those times. I can be pretty skeptical about ratings, but Dr. Gupta and everyone at his office deserve it! I'd give them 10 stars if I could.

Dr. Gupta was very dismissive and not willing to listen or answer questions. He spent maybe three minutes total with me. The appointment was a waste of time. I will need to go see a different orthodontist to determine if he was even accurate in his quick opinion and pricing. The pricing seemed very high from reviewing with friends and family.

This is the nicest & most high-tech doctors office I have ever been to! Dr. Gupta was very through in the consultation and gave me multiple options ( Invisalign & to straighten my teeth. I am going with Invisalign clear braces) and so excited to start my treatment!

Best orthodontist in Plano! I went to three other orthodontists before coming to Dr. Gupta. My experience at the initial exam was great. My daughter & I were seen quickly. Dr. Gupta explained in detail the issues with my daughter's teeth using photos of her teeth on a big screen TV. She is scheduled to get braces on next week!
