About Dr. Athena Vu
Dr. Athena Vu was raised in New Orleans, LA. Dr. Vu received her dental training from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry where she received her DDS. Upon completion of her dental degree, Dr. Vu continued her specialty post-graduate studies in Prosthodontics also at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry. While in her specialist program at LSU, she took both the written and practical exams to receive her certification as a C.D.T.
After 3 extra years of training in aesthetic management of crown and veneer, full-mouth reconstruction, removable/complete denture and implant reconstruction, Dr. Vu received her certification in Prosthodontics. As a Prosthodontist, Dr. Vu can revitalize your smile with dental implants & restorations. She is also trained with the latest technology in Invisalign – the invisible way to straighten teeth without braces. Dr. Vu has built her reputation on providing personalized family care while incorporating the latest advances technology in dentistry.

The dental hygienist came in for 5 minutes to do her quick review of the teeth before the dentist came in to contradict what she said. The dentist also said I had precious fillers that had fallen out which is not accurate. Looks like many people experienced the same thing I did based on previous reviews. Not going back ever again.

i found this doctor on Zocdoc based on profile and location. For me the location the location was not has describe it was uptown and a inconvience from where i lived. the parking for the office is also a challenge because it is in the back of the building and being from out of town it was a challenge locating it so therefore i parked in the wrong building and i could not get my ticket paid. once i did find the doctor office i was 30 mins late, all i could do was get x rays and see the doctors. NO CLEANING and no explanation of why there was no cleaning. The Dr went over the x rays and my current medications was given a form to take to my pcp and i was talked to about my current condition of teeth and then i was dismissed.
There was no discussion of why i came in or what was my future dental plans/visions.
i plan to go back but i will take someone with me on the next visitor to help me drive and maneuver my way in Charlotte. Also to make sure that all information get conveyed.

The doctor and staff are absolutely amazing. They listened to my concerns, made sure to explain each step/procedure thoroughly, and went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, even providing headphones while I had my procedure done. The doctor is SO gentle and the BEST at injecting anesthetics, you won’t even feel a pinch! I highly recommend this practice.

Probably one of the best dentist offices I’ve been too! Answered all of my questions, was hardly a wait to get called back, and helped me out with my insurance concerns.
Also they offer you head phones and your choice of music for while they’re doing dental work- and that was pretty amazing!

Dr. Vu and her staff was extremely professional, courteous, efficient & even provide a 7-day teeth whitening set for new patients. Such a nice touch. Dr. Vu came in and explained everything very clearly about my X-rays & course of treatment. There’s actually a tv monitor where me, as the patient, could see everything as well. Outstanding service. So glad I FINALLY found a forever dentist.

I visited Dr. Vu once before she informed me i needed to have my wisdom teeth removed. Her staff was able to fit me in a couple of days later. She was quick, kind and very warm. If i lived in Charlotte she would definitely be my dentist. She's very knowledgeable and friendly and a great dentist and surgeon!

Dr. Vu is clear, efficient, and personable in her explanation of the recommended treatment. I went in for a consultation and was pleased she could begin working on my teeth right away. Very focused on explanations and thorough in demonstrating what needs to be done and why. Ver nice office staff as well, and my hygienist excellent as well.

I drove about an hour to this office to find out ZocDoc mislead me and the dentist actually is out of my network for my insurance. I had to pay a bill I wasn't expecting however Dr. Vu was very understanding and did the cleaning at a discount. She made the whole situation much better.

I am not happy with my last procedure. They did not explain or orientated me how they were supposed to. Did not tell me what could happened to me after a root canal. And now I need a crown and they did not tell me this either and the medicaid does not cover it and is too expensive. All this they should have told me before the procedure, not a week after.
