About Dr. Gregory Ray

Dr. Greg Ray, D.D.S., is a pre-eminent cosmetic dentist whose specialty is transforming teeth into terrific smiles. Although he currently serves the Manhattan Beach area, he successfully practiced in San Diego, California, for a decade and on the Upper East Side of Manhattan from 2016 to 2020. Educated at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, and the University of Arizona, Dr. Ray is a member of the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the California Dental Association. He is licensed to practice dentistry in both New York and California and is a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology. Since he holds certification as a trainer for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics same-day dentistry, he can create and insert custom-designed ceramic dental inserts in just one day! He is also a new product and technology evaluator for Clinical Research Associates.
While apprenticing with the official dentist of the Miss California pageant, Dr. Ray began honing his skills as a top-notch practitioner who is particularly adept at keeping patients relaxed and treating them like family. Although Dr. Ray was voted one of San Diego's top dentists by San Diego Magazine for eight years, such accolades are no match for the decade of exclusively five-star ratings via Yelp from patients who are smiling a bit more easily thanks to Dr. Ray, D.D.S.
When Dr. Ray, D.D.S., is not helping Manhattan Beach residents achieve their best dental health ever, he loves paddleboarding and snowboarding as well as exploring restaurants and live music in his new hometown.

Staff was very professional and helpful. They ensured there were no insurance issues prior to the appointment and when I arrived it was a breeze. Super clean office with the latest technical equipment like 3D printers and 3D imaging.

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Ray at Giant Smiles Dental. The staff was friendly and efficient and my appointment started right on time. Dr. Ray had lovely bedside manner and it was overall a very pleasant experience, which I would say is unusual for me at a dentist appointment! Will definitely be going back regularly

I absolutely loved my experience with Dr. Ray! Unlike other dental places I've been to, he kept it refreshingly simple and to the point, discussing only the things that truly mattered. The best part? He was the only one in the clinic, which I found oddly comforting. I visited later in the day and suspect his staff had left by then, but it was great to see a dentist so hands-on and involved in every aspect of his practice, from scheduling appointments to treating patients. Highly recommend!

Great first visit with Dr Ray. Very professional and explained as well as showed me what needs to happen next. He also cleaned my teeth very well.
His assistant was also very helpful in explaining what my insurance covered and also performed the x-rays well.
Both were very friendly and ready to assist me.

I booked this appointment on a Sunday for the following day. The office assistant was so kind and went out of her way to ensure that they took my insurance (even waiting an hour and a half on hold with the insurer to sort out an issue). I was seen promptly upon entering the office, for a full set of x-rays and a thorough cleaning. The office was so kind and accommodating, striking up conversation to put my mind at ease while the dentist examined my teeth (and especially one tooth that was bothering me). Such a smooth experience, I highly recommend!
