Dr. Pournik is a graduate of University of Texas Dental Branch dental school, one of the best in the country. She has been a dentist for over a decade and has taken several post graduate courses in different fields of dentistry since receiving her D.D.S. degree. One of her most recent achievements was to receive the prestigious fellowship award by the International Congress of Implantology.
Dr. Pournik’s emphasis on patient comfort, as well as keeping up-to-date with the latest advancements in dentistry, enable her to provide her patients with the best quality of care in the field. She has a wide range of experience in different areas of dentistry. Through hundreds of hours of continuing education courses, she has perfected her skills in many different areas of dentistry ranging from cosmetic to surgical procedures like implant dentistry. In addition, Dr. Pournik believes that, due to her own dental experiences, she can more easily empathize with her patients.
Her approach to treatment begins with a pleasant bedside manner while patiently listening to her patient’s concerns. Then, after a complete and thorough examination, Dr. Pournik discusses her diagnosis with them and provides a complete list of available treatment options.
When she is not practicing dentistry or attending courses, she and her husband, Roger Applewhite, enjoy an active lifestyle exercising, traveling, cooking.

Dr. Pournik is an incredible person and a very knowledgeable, very professional doctor. She doesn't rush through like previous dentists I had, she took her time and did the best job cleaning and taking care of my cavities . Truly an artist! She is not only awesome at her dentistry skills, but has an incredible artisitic talent with cosmetic dentistry. I had my top row of teeth crowned with porcelain years ago and they obviously appear to be crowns. Dr. Pournik did my bottom row and they look amazing, yet totally natural ?? And last but not least, she is super gentle...,I fall asleep every time I go in for a procedure. Best dentist I've ever had!!!! ????????

I have been going to Dr. Pournik for several years and I cannot truly express how pleased I am with everything about her office. Appointment times are on time! I have not waited in the waiting room for more than 10 minutes on any of the appointments, and if anybody his reading this has been to the dentist knows that is the exception not the norm.
Service is always very professional, and as painless as possible. I have had extensive reconstructive and cosmetic procedures, she is the best dentist I've ever been to.
I have recommended her to my entire family and she has taken very good care of them. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great dentist with excellent skills, who is truly an artist.

Everyone in the office is very nice and professional, I have recommended applewhite dental arts to my friends and they have had the same great experience as I have had.
