About Dr. Howard Arthur Nelson
Dr. H. Arthur Nelson is a dentist practicing in McKinney and Frisco, Texas. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. In 1983, he founded Nelson and Associates Family Dentistry, a private practice where he applies his expertise and passion for patient care. Dr. Nelson is affiliated with several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the North Texas Dental Society.
With two locations in McKinney and Frisco, Dr. Nelson offers a wide range of treatments using state-of-the-art technology, such as CEREC same-day dentistry and cone beam imaging. Over the past decade, he has been recognized with numerous accolades, including Reader's Choice Best Cosmetic Dentist and Best Dental Office awards. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Nelson is married with three daughters and enjoys golf and creative arts.

Unfortunately, I had a bad set of experience at Dr Nelson's office. They have shady billing practices and demanded payment even though basic cleaning is fully covered by the Insurance. Moreover, they tried to charge a large sum to my credit card and claimed that my insurance company has sent me a check for services that were rendered (which is strange). They refused to release my Xrays to me whilst demanding payment. I advise that you have crystal clear billing conversations with them prior to going in as a patient. They will throw a curve ball at you after services are performed. If possible, find another dentist with better reviews and honest billing practices.

I booked an appointment with Dr. Nelson under the impression his office was in network with my insurance. Instead of informing me otherwise they booked my appointment and I had to pay 2x more out of pocket. I find this extremely poor business. I will not recommend this dentist to anyone. Dr. Nelson is very narcissistic and had horrible bedside manner as well.

Dr. Nelson and his staff are amazing. It’s been a long time since I’ve actually enjoyed going to the dentist. I need some additional work done and Dr. Nelson is referring me to a specialist that is skilled in that field and one he trusts. 5 stars for Dr. Nelson and his staff.

The dental hygienist is excellent and preformed great service. The dentist was friendly, and made an appropriate evaluation of my teeth.
I wish that dentists would offer eco-friendly alternatives to the standard toothbrush/toothpaste/floss parting gifts. There is room for improvement on the part of all dentists in the eco-friendly area.

As usual a great experience. Robin was great with the cleaning and was very careful with me due to the fact I have very sensitive teeth. I drive from Austin to Dallas every 6 months just to be able to continue using Dr. Nelson and his staff.

Who ever looks forward to a dental visit? ME! Dr. Nelson and his staff have taken care of our family for over 20 years. Dr. Nelson is a PERFECTIONIST and insists that everything procedure meets his sky high standards. And, he genuinely cares about his patients. That care and concern is evidenced by every single member of the staff. Cannot give higher marks for the professionalism, concern and dedication to super high standards of everyone on the staff!
