About Dr. James Skoumal
Dr. Jim was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, where he participated as an Eagle Scout with the BSA and swam on his high school team. He then headed to California for his undergraduate studies and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of the Pacific Dental School in San Francisco. After graduating, Dr. Jim worked at a clinic in southern New Mexico before deciding to return to the Midwest to be closer to his family in Iowa and Illinois. When he's not in the dental office, he enjoys spending time outdoors-camping, hiking, or skiing as the weather permits.
