Dr. Ackerman established a group practice in 1978 after extensive advanced training through a dental residency program at Rush Presbyterian Saint Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, a military tour of duty and in excess of 3,000 hours of continuing education after his graduation from the Ohio State University. His commitment to excellence is exemplified by the fact that he has earned a Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Ackerman resides with his wife in Fairfax, VA. They enjoy spending time with their children, step children, and their 7 grandchildren. His outside interests include archeology (has participated in digs in Africa and Turkey), art (painting, photography and pottery), Karate (former member of Jhoon Rhee Black Belt Club), avid golfer, traveling, and fly-fishing.
