He was a life saver as far as turning around my dental care. My past dentisitz were simply reactionary and not looking out for me in the long-term or reversing the slow decay.
He is not trying to get you to load up on different care. He is simply honest. I definitely needed a deep clean but he said, "Let's wait and see how your teeth are the next time you come in and if you changed your care."
Very smart and a top-notch dentisit. Took me a couple decades to find one like him. I would highly recommend their service.

More about Dr. Jeffrey Katz, DDS
Dr. Katz grew up in New York State. He earned an undergraduate degree from the Ohio State University. Upon graduation he was accepted at Georgetown University School of Dentistry. After graduation, Dr Katz returned to New York where he completed an internship program at Mt. Sinai Hospital. The program focused on inpatient and outpatient dentistry, trauma and medical emergencies. Dr. Katz then moved to San Francisco and accepted a teaching position at the UCSF School of Dentistry. Desiring to be in private practice, he retired from his full time faculty position after 4 years and became an Associate of Dr. Phillip Corin. Dr. Corin became a friend and a mentor and introduced Dr. Katz to many of the fundamental concepts in dentistry that relate to full mouth rehabilitation and reconstruction. When Dr. Corin retired, Dr. Katz successfully transitioned as the primary provider and practice owner, carrying on the concepts and traditions that Dr. Corin spent much of his life developing.
Through the years, Dr. Jeff Katz has continued to focus on his passion for excellence, precision and practicality . Always keeping in mind fundamental concepts, he has incorporated into his practice of dentistry the latest technologies; such as digital CAD/CAM restorations and 3D Dental Implant treatment planning and Guided Surgery. Dr. Katz has been a long standing member of the Laguna Beach Gnathological Study Group.He is associated with the IDEA Institute, headed by Dr. Robert Lamb and Dr. Heike Kramer. The Interdisciplinary Dental Education Academy, located in Foster City, California is one of the world’s leading teaching and conference centers, bringing together the finest minds in Dentistry and Dental Technology.

Couple issues - with the anesthetic, I had to be numbed several times before it kicked in, which is painful and quite a bit stressful to me. I hope next time we'll communicate better at the outset and see if there's any way the dosage could be adjusted at the beginning.
Also, the hygienist sucked up the inside of my cheek a couple times with the suction, and stabbed my lip with the tip of the tube. No time did she apologize or check in with me. She also didn't offer me the chance to rinse when the last mold was taken, or instruct me to go rinse on my own. I had some garbage left in my mouth and guidance would've been appreciated.
Dental work doesn't feel awesome. That's just how it is. But feeling like the person who's got their tools in my mouth remembers that there's a human attached to this oral cavity goes a long way to make it more comfortable. I think it's a learned skill, and that she can definitely improve on this and get to a better chairside manner.
My mouth still feels un-awesome, but I'm looking forward to my crowning appointment in a couple weeks. I wouldn't have said anything, but you guys sent me this email, so I'm sharing my experience.

The office is very professional and well run. They explained clearly what they were doing and why, which I found helpful. I was a little shocked at how many X-rays they needed to pull, but maybe that is normal?
Overall, I'd highly recommend and will return to their office for a follow up.

Dr. Katz is awesome. He explains everything so you understand why he is doing everything what the results are. Additionally, he makes recommendations but does not push anything on you on the spot. He is easy to talk to, and fun to talk to. Highly recommended!
