About Dr. David Shepherd

Dr. Shepherd attended The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 1984. After dental school he opened his own practice for General Dentistry in Pelham. After 40 years of being in private practice, Dr. Shepherd is excited to join the Smile Partners family. Dr. Shepherd has received many years of continued education and clinical training in implants, endodontics, prosthodontics, periodontics, and other restorative procedures. He is also certified in the LANAP procedure, the only laser gum disease treatment FDA cleared for True Regeneration for periodontal disease. His favorite aspect of dentistry, however, is the relationships he has been able to foster with his patients. When he is away from the office, Dr. Shepherd enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter!
