If it’s been 6 months or more since your last checkup and it’s because of any fear, concern, phobia or uncertainty immediately book Dr. Perlman right now. Everyone in the office was super friendly, took time to listen and make sure I was ok at every step, there was 0 judgement about past oral hygiene and the dental hygienist Boshoy was a pro. Not your typical experience or doctor - but quite frankly maybe the industry should move to this model, it would really help better mental and oral health. Thank you Dr. Perlman.

Dr perlman has impeccable bedside manner. He thoroughly explains what the team will accomplish that day and does his very best to make you feel at ease. He made someone who is terrified of the dentist , terrified no longer! Martha his hygienist was also extremely friendly and caring. Melissa at the front desk was a pleasure to deal with while scheduling. All in all a fantastic experience!

Not sure why it's taken me so long to write a review for Dr. Perlman but here it is! I found him on Zocdoc for an emergency filling back in November, 2017. I chose him because he had great reviews, available appointments the day I needed and was close to my office. He saw me right away and managed to win me over! I'm happy to say he is now my primary dentist and I have stopped seeing my dentist prior to him. Dr. Perlman is nice, attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and his staff is super great and friendly too!!

After a friend of mine had nothing but good things to say about this office, I scheduled my first visit to NYC Smile Spa to see Dr. Perlman. Like all the other glowing reviews here, I was incredibly impressed with this place. The receptionists were genuinely warm and friendly, the office was clean and relaxing, and the wait times were practically nonexistent. I came here for a cleaning and X-ray and then came back a second time for four fillings. Dr. Perlman has great bedside manner and tries to personally get to know each of his patients. I haven’t had cavities since childhood and I’m quite needle-phobic so I was anxious for the fillings. He took the time to explain every aspect of the procedure to me (including their amazing virtually pain-free anesthetic system they use). They are very transparent about billing and insurance which was refreshing compared to other offices. The filling procedure was, as I said above, almost entirely painless which was great and Dr. Perlman did a great job with the fillings and worked quickly. He makes sure you are comfortable and checks in multiple times while he is working. I had to come back for a routine adjustment and they were able to take me the same day I called. I was in and out of the office in less than 10 minutes! Overall, I had a really great experience here and am looking forward to coming back in 6 months (which is something I thought I would never say about the dentist a few weeks ago). Look no further and schedule an appointment here- you won’t regret it.

This was a stellar experience from beginning to end. Not only are the docs wonderful, but the whole staff including Jasmine at reception and the hygienists like Katy. Wait time is always under 10 minutes and the whole crew is very attentive. Dr. Perlman is funny and listens to concerns, addresses them and always gives options before beginning a procedure which made me comfortable. The facility is very clean and beautiful. I've recommended this place to all of my friends

Dr. Perlman is great, especially if you fear going to the dentist. I am a total anxious mess when it comes to have dental work done but Dr. Perlman has now done two root canals on me and they were totally pain free! Seriously, PAIN FREE! He is very generous with the anesthetic numbing medicine and is constantly checking to make sure you are comfortable and feeling ok while he's doing his work.
The staff is exceptionally friendly and everyone makes sure you have a pleasant experience. The office is calm and modern and the equipment and technology up to date.
What I really like are the little things they offer such as sunglasses to keep the bright light out of your eyes, stress balls to squeeze, and even headphones and an ipod to listen to whatever music you like during treatment.

My experience with Dr. Perlman was nothing short of amazing. I made an appointment on Sunday night after chipping my tooth and I was in his office on Monday at Noon. To put this into context, I contacted the last dentist I saw and they offered me a mid-week visit. After I arrived for my appointment, I was in a chair within 5 minutes and out the door one hour later with a treatment plan in place. Dr. Perlman explained all of my options carefully before he did any work, and helped me make an informed decision, which was nice for a change. His work was extremely efficient and thorough. I did not spend any unnecessary time in the chair. His staff was extremely detail oriented and helpful. I have been looking for a dentist since I moved to NYC (4.5 years ago) and I think I finally found one. Highly recommend.

Great experience, highly recommend! There were some issues of miscommunication in getting a mouth-guard/night-guard - i.e. told I could wait and it would be ready in 30 minutes, waited, not true, so then told it would be mailed to me, they forgot and I had to follow up twice. However, the staff were all very nice and apologetic and it did come in the mail eventually, no harm done. Overall, this place is great, so glad I found them.

Went in for root canal, Josh was one of the best dentists I've been to. From barely feeling the numbing injections to very little soreness after the procedure, everything went far better than I had imagined. Definitely a dentist to go to!

I came in for a cleaning, with a few other concerns as does usually happen when you visit the doctor - he was excellent at prioritizing. Front staff is organized, able to assist insurance coverage on procedures and estimate expected financial responsibility. Technology up to date and focuses on patient education.

I have SEVERE dental anxiety. I started my appointment crying for fear of my root canal, but it was not as bad as I thought it would be thanks to Dr. Perlman. I requested Nitrus (laughing gas) so I would be less anxious, and he waited until I was totally comfortable to begin the procedure. He checked to make sure I was comfortable the whole time, and asked if I wanted to know every step of the procedure as he was working on my tooth. I declined at first but midway through the procedure (after a lot of laughing gas) I asked him what he was doing, and he was informative through every step. He treats every patient like they are the only patient he is seeing, even though he has plenty, and takes care to make sure that you are seen right away if you're having an emergency. He's also very sufficient and aware that we all have busy schedules and works around it. Best dentist I've ever been to! Though I'm scared to death of the dentist, going to Dr. Perlman makes me feel a lot better and a lot less scared/apprehensive/anxious about it all.

Highly recommend Dr. Perlman and his practice, especially those who are nervous or anxious about dental visits. It had been a few years since my last dentist visit and I've always had a terrible fear of dentists. My teeth were in pretty terrible shape. It was clear on my visit that Dr. Perlman has a lot of experience with patients like me. He also did a wonderful job of explaining what he was doing and laying out a plan for getting me to become one of those people who actually ENJOY dentist visits! His hygienist, Martha, also did an amazing job cleaning my teeth - she definitely had her work cut out for her. She was very patient with me and I even got to drown out the cleaning noises with noise-cancelling headphones. The front desk folks were great as well. I scheduled my follow up visit on the spot - something I never do since I haven't met a practice that I actually liked this much before.

To work on a tooth at the back of my mouth, Dr Perlman administered anesthetic with epinephrine, but mistakenly directly into my blood stream, and left me to walk out of his office even though i complained of rapid heart beat and dizziness...I ended up in ER as my colleagues worried I was about to pass out. I had extremely high blood pressure and a big scare but left hospital after a couple of hours...

Dr. Perlman was absolutely fantastic, both in treatment and in bedside manner. I had not been to a dentist for several years, but neither the doctor nor his staff made me feel at all self-conscious or embarrassed for it.
I was treated for several small cavities, requiring several visits given Dr. Perlman's (smart) policy of numbing only one quadrant of the mouth on any given day. Each time, his manner was fantastic, the numbing gel and injections were generous, and he was careful to ensure that there was no pain or anticipation. He worked quickly, and my teeth feel fantastic - clean, smooth fillings.
Very highly recommended! (especially for anyone who is uneasy about dental work)

My appointment with Dr. Perlman was awesome and couldn't have went any better. He made me feel comfortable (played music of my choice while cleaning my teeth) and was very thorough during my visit. I went for a cleaning and wisdom tooth pain. He told me everything that he was going to do! He is very knowledgeable and even showed me how to properly floss my teeth. I look forward to seeing him again!
