“He’s a great dentist and cleaned my teeth really well. He also thoroughly diagnosed a gum issue I had which turned out not to be as serious as it looked. Gave me some tips on how to manage it at home and it got better in 2-3 days so didn’t try to sell me expensive treatments or anything. Also fixed and cleaned my husband’s teeth in a span of a few days and he has no issues since. Definitely recommend him! ”

About Dr. Kamran Tavakkoli
I earned my Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Temple University School of Dentistry in 2002. I also received training at the prestigious Dawson Academy for Advanced Dental Studies, where I studied under a large faculty of senior practicing dentists from around the world. I am a dedicated professional and regularly pursue continuing education. I am currently working on my postgraduate degree in aesthetic dentistry from the University of Minnesota.
At our dental offices in Woodbridge and Alexandria, I practice quality dental care as well as complex comprehensive care with my brother, Dr. Kambiz Tavakkoli. I stand by a commitment to serve individuals, families, active service members, and surrounding communities with dental healthcare that is second to none. My unique approach to every patient’s situation is highly personalized and entirely comfortable.
I am a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and American Academy of Implant Dentistry, as well as the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, Northern Virginia Dental Society, and Alexandria Dental Society. I volunteer my time and services whenever I have the opportunity working with Northern Virginia Dental Clinic and their wonderful staff to provide dental services to low income residents. I'm proud to have received designation as a Preferred Provider by Invisalign® and am certified in oral sedation. In addition, the Consumers’ Research Council has recognized my brother and I as America’s Top Dentists for Cosmetic and General Dentistry for eight years running (2009 through 2016).

This was my first time here. The office was located at an easily accessible area and the overall setting inside is pristine. The greeting upon arriving at the front desk was inviting and quick. All the staff there seem genuinely helpful and nice.
The dentist himself was absolutely awesome. He is very engaged in trying to make sense of your specific situation. Would recommend 100%.

I have been to this location twice for a cleaning and to fill a cavity. Both times I was greeted warmly and I was seen right away. It is a very professional and positive environment. I usually do not feel comfortable at the dentist, however; I felt very comfortable at the office of Kamran Tavakkoli, DMD. He is very personable, kind, and professional. I am grateful to have found such an amazing dentist!

The whole staff at Dr. Tavakkoli's office is phenomenal! From Dana at the front desk to the fantastic hygienists, they all know your name and make you feel like family! I recently moved away from the Alexandria area but still continue to visit their office because I love them so much! I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dentist in old town Alexandria! My aunt is a dentist, so I know what quality looks like, and this is it!!

Everyone there is fantastic and understanding of the fact that I'm terrified of the dentist, or at least was. They do everything they can to make me feel comfortable and aware of what's happening. Went in for a consult. Clear, involved explanation(s). Helped me to see condition of my teeth better than any other dentist I've ever seen. Detailed treatment plan, with each cost enumerated.
One caveat...too pushy about the need for x-rays then and there. I understood his reasoning but was a wee bit bothered by having to say "Not today" four times.

I really felt comfortable with both Dr. Kamran Tavakkoli's bedside manner and his explanations of the work that I would need done on my teeth and what he was doing while working on my teeth. The assistants bedside manner was awesome as well. I wasn't too happy about having to fill out the paperwork I already filled out on line. All in all, the appointment went well and all the staff was helpful.

I've struggled finding a dentist office with good customer service. I'm very particular and I was impressed by this dentist and his staff. They tried to have the patient agree to dental work while the patient is in the chair...with tubes sticking out and pain meds kicking in...too much of a hard sell and too much of an "assembly line" atmosphere.

The staff on all levels were kind, helpful, and informative so that today's trip was educational and pain-free! I am a new patient for them, and was really happy with how quickly they brought themselves up to date with my dental history and took that into consideration in their present analysis. Cece did a great job of getting me started, Dr. Tavakkoli was wonderful to work with, Sue made my teeth feel brand new, and Dana took the time to review a treatment plan with me. Great people!
