The office looked newly renovated and clean. My hygienist, jasmine, was extremely knowledgeable and gentle. Dr.Chen came in to introduce himself and check my teeth and x-rays after my cleaning. He was friendly and professional and the work done was top notch. ”

I always had issues with prior offices from long waits, surprise bills and very painful services. Today I made an appointment for a cracked tooth with a large cavity. Dr. Chen was able to save my tooth with a filling after removing most of my back tooth. Im very satisfied with my visit today. I already have my next appointment in a few weeks for a different procedure. Im looking forward to my visit and hadn't been this excited for a denist appointment. I will be back to post future visits and updates ”

About Dr. Lewis Chen
Dr. Lewis Chen was born and raised in New York. He graduated top of his class from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine with highest honors and distinction and was one of the few in his class to be inducted into the only renowned, national dental honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU). After graduation, he completed his residency at the Bronx VA Medical Center, which is nationally known to be the most prestigious, competitive, and comprehensive program in the country.
Because of his commitment to teaching and education, he also serves as Instructor of Clinical Dental Medicine at Columbia University. He strongly believes that all patients should be fully informed and educated so they can make the best decisions for their oral health and overall health. His aim is to exceed your expectations.

I went to Beam Dental in severe tooth pain as a cash-paying patient. Dr. Chen took X-rays and told me my wisdom tooth was causing the pain. He prescribed only amoxicillin and told me to see an oral surgeon, but the earliest appointment available was more than a week away.
During that wait, my pain became unbearable. I called and emailed the office several times asking for help — even just prescription-strength ibuprofen — and they refused every request, telling me to buy it over the counter. They knew how bad the pain was and still offered no support or follow-up care.
I ended up having to go to urgent care and then the ER just to get pain relief.
Overall, the experience felt uncaring and dismissive. Once they took my money, they provided no real help. I would not recommend this office.

Dr. Chen is an amazing dentist that truly cares about his patients and goes out of his way to ensure they're educated on their options and only get procedures done that are necessary. He's great with his bedside manner and easy to talk to and spends ample time getting to know you personally. He's also got a bunch of little touches (goggles to prevent water splash, vaseline to prevent dry lips during cleanings, etc) that show he's always thinking about his patients. Already looking forward to my next visit!

Forget everything you know and hate about going to the dentist! Dr. Chen is a game changer. I was looking for a new dentist after I moved and was thrilled when I came here. I dread going to the dentist - and, for that reason, tend to put it off as long as possible. My experience at Advanced Dental with Emily and Dr. Chen was fantastic!! They listened to my irrational fears and did everything they could to put my mind at ease while delivering an efficient exam and gentle cleaning. Furthermore, I had no gum swelling or soreness given Dr. Chen's technique. I can't even believe I'm saying this but am actually excited to return for my 6 mo. visit?! HIGHLY recommend.

Went for a minor surgery, end up with an infection for which no medicines were prescribed. Had to get it treated from another doctor. Unpleasant experience! Fancy machines but inexperienced doctors.

What I like about seeing Dr. Chen is how personable he is, he even tells me he is Facebook friends with his patients! He is very thorough and detail oriented. I like that he has recently formed his practice so you don’t have to worry about him retiring any time soon, and he also arranges all his appointments personally which is very nice. He’s very hard working and answers all emails within a few minutes. When you make an appointment with Dr. Chen you will spend the entire time with him, he does all the cleanings and x-rays himself, so it is nice to get to work with him for such a long period of time, as opposed to going to a practice where the dentist only comes in for a minute or two to talk about the x-rays. It’s rare in 2018 to find a dentist who will sit down with you for 2 hours. I don’t feel like I am going to the dentist when I go see Dr. Chen.

Best dental experience I've ever had! Dr. Chen is professional, reliable, and honest. I came in for a consultation to get a second opinion on teeth bonding. Dr. Chen thoroughly explained the pros and cons of the procedure and didn't try to sell me something that I didn't need (unlike my previous dentist). He genuinely has the patient's best interest at heart! Would highly recommend him for anyone looking for a knowledgeable, caring primary dentist!

Dr. Lewis Chen saw me immediately as soon as I checked in. I must say, I really liked how knowledgeable, sharp, and passionate he was about the field. He avoided too much dental jargon and explained the plan thoroughly. I had a fantastic experience and I highly recommend him to anyone!!! Hands down the best!
