About Dr. Mahvish Ahmed

Mahvish Ahmed, DDS, has always had an interest in science and biology, two passions that led her to pursue an undergraduate degree at the Ohio State University, in Columbus, Ohio.
She then continued her postgraduate education in Columbus, earning her doctorate of dental surgery a few years later.
While completing her doctoral work, Dr. Ahmed also participated in the Graduate Interdisciplinary Specialization in Global Health program. The unique opportunity enabled her to organize and send dental relief teams to underserved areas in the United States and overseas.
After graduation at Ohio State, Dr. Ahmed moved to New York City to participate in her general practice residency at Metropolitan Hospital Center. Dr. Ahmed attributes her success there to her adept surgical skills and ability to put even the most anxious patients at ease.
Dr. Ahmed brings extensive holistic dentistry experience to Central Park Dentistry. She regularly provides preventive services such as cleanings and oral exams and is committed to helping her patients achieve healthy, bright smiles. Dr. Ahmed stays up-to-date on industry developments and cutting-edge techniques and is a proud member of the American Dental Association and the New York State Dental Association.
When Dr. Ahmed isn’t at work, she’s active in New York Cares, a nonprofit organization responsible for hundreds of volunteer projects all over the city. She’s also a certified yoga instructor and loves to participate in Manhattan’s vibrant music and arts scene.

I really enjoyed my appointment. The dentist was so nice and helped ease all my fears about being at the dentist. She explained everything to me and gave me great recommendations for things I should add to my teeth-cleaning routine. We’re also going to work on a dental plan to help me achieve the smile I want in the future. I’m really excited about my next appointment. The staff was also great and took the time to explain everything to me.

Dr Ahmed is just amazing! Great bedside manner, excellent communicator & great listener. She is respectful, efficient, not trying to sell anyone anything and truly just cares for her patients. I believe she is the best provider I have been to & I highly recommend!

The dental hygienist and the Doctor were Excellent! Very thorough in what work that I need. Office was clean and modern. Dr. Ahmed’s “chair” side manner was calming and respectful. I sent a text to my daughter right after my visit telling her that we had found our new dentist!

Best experience with a dentist I've ever had. She was very considerate and gentle and did no condescend as, unfortunately, some practitioners do. It was lovely and I felt well informed, reassured and in charge of my own health with her professional insight on my side. The administators in office were also quite personable, and VERY helpful, which I know is hard to keep up as someone who also works in healthcare and given the current climate. Would recommend to anyone.

Dr. Ahmed did an amazing job! I was taking care of by Alison, the dental assistant; in terms of the cleaning. She’s a perfectionist and she’s very light-handed while working on your teeth. She knows how to build great conversation to make you feel relaxed and comfortable. If you’re an introvert and don’t like to talk, I think she’s a had a good judgment of the room, so don’t talk this as a negative (you can be in and out). Everyone on the staff was friendly and polite. I would definitely go back again, which I am, I got all my concerns in terms of cavities and follow ups situated. I’m still using my tongue to play with my teeth due to how clean they are =).

The best experience I’ve had with a dentist! They were respectful, sensitive and offered great options without pressure. The hygienist was exceptional and so friendly. Dr. Ahmed was efficient but took the time to listen to my concerns. Highly recommend!
