“Great experience and staff. This is the first time seeing a dentist where I felt heard and not judged. I will be returning.”

“She was great! And I, like 90% of the population, loathe dental work and all that it entails. She made things easy and painless and all was a great conversation. Even if you forget to bring headphones (I always use to block out the noise), there are movies playing to distract you from what is going on. And I don't mean infomercials or news channels, I mean real movies. All in all it was as great an experience as you can get at the dentist. I highly recommend her and her team.”

About Dr. Nahal Heyrani
For many, high school can be a time of great uncertainty and confusion, but not for Dr. Heyrani. By the time she graduated, she knew exactly what she wanted to be: a dentist.
For Dr. Heyrani, cosmetic and general dentistry provided the perfect opportunity to combine her passion for science with her deep interest in art. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the UCLA School of Dentistry and continued her education with a General Practice Residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City.
While in dental school, Dr. Heyrani was invited to join the distinguished Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, the oldest organization of its kind in the world. She is also a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Heyrani is fluent in English, Spanish, and Farsi. She uses her expertise in cosmetic and implant dentistry to care for her patients and particularly enjoys working with patients of all ages to help them overcome their fears and achieve the smile they desire in a comfortable, family-oriented setting. Dr. Heyrani believes that prevention, education, and regular visits are the best ways to avoid discomfort and maintain exceptional oral health.

I don't know if it's the norm for dentists but I waited 30 minutes with my thumb up my bum.

I had such high hopes for this visit. I called ahead and explained my disability and a few simple accommodations I would need. I was assured that they could accommodate me. I got there ready to have a great experience because the customer service had been great so far. When it was time to go to the xray room we discovered that they had converted an inset cubby area (like where you would typically put a cabinet or bookshelf) into their xray area instead of using an exam room, as is typical. The xray chair was absolutely tiny, with arms that did not lift, but worse than that it was literally wedged into this narrow space with zero clearance on either side. This set up was completely inaccessible and would present problems for many able-bodied people as well. It is as if they designed this without thinking about actually having to put PEOPLE in that chair. The nurse's snarky attitude did not help the situation. To the doctor's credit, she apologized, but offered no solution. Quality front-end customer service is great, but not if the service can't back it up. :-(

She seems to be very knowledgable, however, I waited almost an hour before being seen for X-rays and then another 30 min for her to come in to look at the X-rays and then another 20 min for the office manager to re-check the insurance. Because I only have medical coverage (which I told them multiple times) I was only looking for a cleaning and planning to come back within a few months once I got dental, however, because I had "pockets" in my gums, she said that I could only get the deep cleaning, which my insurance wouldn't cover. After two and a half hours all I walked out of there with was a paper copy of my X-rays and my only check up appt I have for dental with my insurance used up... And no cleaning.

I arrived at 9:30am for my 9:45am appt. The receptionist told me that she had me down for 11am. I asked if this would be a problem and she said no. I waited for 15 minutes and then asked her how long she thought the wait would be. She told me 1/2 hour. I asked if it would be better if I came back later. It was agreed that I would come back at 2p. I arrived 2:05-2:10p. I waited for approx. 20 minutes before getting x-rayed. Then waited some more. It was 3:15p by the time the dentist came to see me. After she looked at my x-rays she told me it would be another 30-40 minutes for the cleaning. As it was now close to 3:30p, I did not have time.

It was Ok..... a little time consuming for a first visit. only completed X-Rays in 45 min. of wait time for completion of entire consultation. Had to re-schedule. I could not wait for dentist any longer.

As someone who has extremely high anxiety at the dentist and has never had a single cavity, Dr. Heyrani made me feel EXTREMELY comfortable when finding out I have my first cavities. She did not belittle my fears, but instead empathized and assured me things would be okay. She was personable, kind, and professional, as was every single member of the staff. I am so grateful to have found such a great dentist.

She really didn't do much because of my situation. I am looking forward to working with her in the future. Also the staff is amazing, they are so calm and nice. Best dentist trip i have ever had.

I liked her right off and I am very picky about my dentist and doctors. She was great. The staff also was very helpful and nice to deal with.

Dr. Heyrani and her staff are wonderful!! I sought a second opinion with her and walked away feeling relieved that I'd found someone that could not only help me with my concerns--but truly cares about her work and patients. Her awesome staff is also a reflection of that passion and her leadership.

I was very impressed with West Coast Dental of Long Beach :) I have always had very sensitive teeth & gums and FEAR the dentist... I moved here from the midwest & finding a good dentist is VERY important since I have a mouth full of crowns...(I'm always needing ongoing dental care, other than just preventative) The staff, dental assistants, and Dr. Heyrani were all great! They listen and will gladly explain things if you ask. They do there best to make you feel comfortable. They're professional, but also easy to talk with. Plus, they really seem to like what they do. Dr. Heyrani was kind and very gentle. I'm really relieved to have found a straightforward honest, capable and caring dentist (and staff)
