Dr. Paul was great. In my past experiences, the dental hygienist normally does everything and the doctor shows up for 2 minutes at the end. But after the x-rays, Dr. Paul did the whole cleaning and check-up.

Fluent in English and Russian, Dr. Paul Shteynberg received his initial education in St. Petersburg, Russia, where he earned his dental degree in 1982. He then practiced near Odessa, Ukraine for 10 years, before coming to the United States, and receiving an additional dental degree from Boston University in 1992. He looks forward to working with his patients to help provide preventative care education and practice healthy oral hygiene. He is also an active member of the Massachusetts Dental Society and the American Dental Association.
As a dentist, Dr. Shteynberg manages a wide array of dental concerns including implant placement, implant restoration, root canals, periodontal therapy, and fillings, focusing on cosmetic crowns and veneers with an inhouse dental lab. He is available for examinations and consultations at Highland Dental Associates and serves the community of Somerville, MA. He understands the importance of quality care and believes in delivering high-quality dental care as well as professional patient service.

He’s very insistent that I stop using toothpaste. Says it’s the reason I have enamel wearing off. I just think this is weird as he’s the only dentist I’ve ever met in my life to suggest this. I’m not sure I’m getting the best care here as another office might suggest ways to handle my sensitivity instead of berating me about following common dental care guidelines.

I arrived at the office 2 hours earlier than my appointment due to efficient MBTA. Dr. Paul Shteynberg was still busy with the patient but Dr. Nelly Paul Shteynberg immediately took over and found out the exact cause of my dental problem, a cracked dental filling, which prevents me from eating and sleeping for 2 days.
Dr. Nelly Shteynberg completed the replacement of dental filling in 25 minutes. She was cautious and polite. Kept asking me how I felt throughout the operation.
Within an hour, I was back to normal. Four more hours later, I started to eat again. Dr. Nelly Shteynberg has saved my life.

Very good dentist! Visit was quick and simple, even with the filling I had done. I have sensitive teeth and gums and I typically hate going to the dentist, but Dr. Shteynberg did a completely pain-free cleaning and filling. I highly recommend him.
