Best dental visit ever!!! Having been born and raised in the west coast and now living in NYC, I find many people impersonable. Having met Dr Karni I am now second guessing my opinion about people in NYC. She was very personable and easy to talk to. She explained everything that is going on in my mouth in a way I can understand it. I value how prevention minded she is. She took care of my work then and there and didn't feel a thing. This was the first time I have never felt pain at the dentist. She is amazing!!! I highly recommend her. My roommates are going to switch to her as well. The office was clean and non intimidating. Thank you dr Karni for making me very comfortable!! I look forward to seeing you again. :)

Dr. Karni is dedicated to creating the most aesthetic and healthy smile for each individual patient. When creating a treatment plan for a patient the patient's concerns are sure to be addressed. And when treating patients the comfort of the patient is of utmost importance.
Dr. Karni graduated New York University College of Dentistry in 2007. The following year she completed a one year residency at Jamaica Hospital in Queens New York. Dr. Karni is also certified in Invisalign and Lumineers. She has also successfully completed a Comprehensive Course in Aesthetic Dentistry at NYU Center for Continuing Dental Education.

It was a fast trip to the dentist. The cleaning was good and they took about 20 X-rays, which was strange. It was just not very personal and felt more like a business office than what I would like for a long term dentist office.

I love this dentist. I HATE going to the dentist, but she is so relaxed and considerate of my emotional state that I don't mind scheduling my next appointment and showing up for it. Had to wait in the office for 5 minutes or so, which was frustrating. I'm not sure if she was setting up, or just forgot to call me in, but I was kind of sitting and waiting without any idea of what was going on. Pretty annoying.

Er. . . this place is kind of freaky, to be honest. I showed up, and was seated into a chair. This woman started x-raying me, without introduction, or telling me who she was. I don't think we exchanged any words other than, "Open", "Close", "Bite Down", and "Okay". She kept double-guessing herself on how the x-ray machine worked, too. At one point I wanted to give her suggestions, just based off my previous history with being x-rayed, but I figured this was a dental hygienist fax-paus-- Probably something that they complain about when they go home and catch up with their families over dinner-- so I just kind of sat there, clenching down on this crazy x-ray apparatus for probably 20 minutes. The cleaning I got was brief and painful. They used, what I can only determine, was a super-sonic pain-emitter, for what made the extremely brief cleaning pretty uncomfortable. I don't think the actual cleaning could have lasted more than 10 minutes, which seems pretty sub-par. When I was asked "Just tell me if it starts to hurt." my response was "it kind of hurts the entire time you're using that thing", as I pointed to the super-sonic pain-emitter. Either she didn't care, or didn't hear me over the screeching sounds the thing as it clattered against my gums and tooth enamel, because she didn't let up.
I originally went in because I read some yelp reviews about how good they are with needles (which I hate), and I thought I may need a filling. I'm pretty glad it never got to that point, because I can only imagine how it would have gone.

I'm not gonna lie I hate going to the dentist but this visit was a truly pleasant visit. Dr Karni was quick and efficient my nerves didn't have time to flare up. I've been pain free since Friday!! Her bedside manner was great and she was very professional.
