After graduating from one of the nation's top dental schools, Dr. Shim completed a residency in General Dentistry at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Evanston Hospital, earning an Excellence in Hospital Residency award. Practicing in the valley since 2007, he was voted one of the Top Dentists by Phoenix Magazine. Dr. Shim’s philosophy is to educate patients about dental care's importance and its impact on general well-being. He believes patient education enables informed decisions about dental health and treatments. He is certified in many advanced dental procedures, including CAD/CAM, Invisalign, Lumineers, implants, and braces. Trained in CAD/CAM dentistry, Dr. Shim has used the CEREC system since 2009, allowing him to complete crown and onlay procedures in a single visit without temporaries. Even permanent implant crowns can be fabricated the same day. As a certified Invisalign provider with traditional orthodontic training, he offers combination treatment options for all orthodontic needs. These overlapping certifications enable him to apply combined knowledge for better care with more efficient, predictable outcomes.
