“From locating a dentist & doctor in my area that takes my insurance was super fast & easy. Secondly, when I goy to the office, the receptionist greeted me very happy, smiled, and assisted me with the remaining paperwork. I was almost finished with the paperwork, and they called me back. Employees were saying, "Hi," & waving. The assistant, Crystal, I believe the spelling is correct, was to the point & very friendly. She seemed to enjoy where she was employed. Dr. Velamakanni was extremely welcoming, happy, and honest about the procedures/plan that I will be enduring. I got X-rays, exam, cleaning, diagnosis, & the plan. Everything was explained is perfect & understanding detail, so there was no misunderstanding about the Procedure(s) plan, execution, my options, including the costs involved. Made my appointment, then back for round 2 of 5!! Thank you, NE Dental Associates(Humble location), I have never been so excited to go to the dentist!! ”

About Dr. Saalini Velamakanni
We believe that every patient deserves individualized, quality of care from start to finish. From the very first consultation, we strive to give you comfort, reliability, ample time for treatment and questions, and around-the-clock availability. No two patients are the same; therefore, their treatment should not be either. Each plan is custom-tailored to fit your individual needs and desires. We strive to build a long-lasting relationship for years to come, and we look forward to welcoming you to our office!
Dr. Saalini Velamakanni ("Dr. V") grew up near St. Paul, Minnesota. She then completed her dental training at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, the top dental school in the US.
Since dental school, Dr. V has been practicing general and cosmetic dentistry in both Washington, D.C. and Houston, where many high-profile patients and their families have been patients of hers over the years. With her love of engineering and biomaterials, Dr. V emphasizes the use of the correct dental materials and their application for your individual needs and to deliver excellent results both esthetically and functionally.
Dr. Velamakanni is a trained general and cosmetic dentist continuously learning and gaining a deeper understanding of dentistry. She has advanced training in implant placement and restoration, veneers, Invisalign (clear braces, Pro* certification), and endodontics (root canals). She also offers state-of-the-art Zoom! in-office teeth whitening and has helped many happy couples get ready for their big day.
In her spare time, Dr. V loves to travel with her husband, Amar. They love to bike, kayak, and cheer on their favorite sports teams together!

Dr.V is hands down the best doctor I've seen in years. I have severe dental anxiety, and she really helped calm my nerves! Even when I was on the verge of tears, she reassured me that I was ok and that she was proud of me for taking such a big step for my health! The office and staff were so nice and walked me through everything.

My experience was wonderful with everyone but the receptionist. I didn’t really feel welcomed by her and she made me feel uncomfortable to start to point I almost left. But Dr. V and the rest of the nurse staff was awesome and made me feel at ease and comfortable.

I see Dr. V twice yearly for my cleanings. Since going to her, I've referred a ton of friends and family members to her for treatment. She has a great personality, is great with kids, and will go out of her way to help her patients. Everybody that I know that has seen her has nothing but glowing remarks about her and her staff - even a couple of them who had such bad experiences with dentists that they neglected dental care for a decade! Cannot recommend Dr. V enough - even if you are scared of going to the dentist!
