About Dr. Shahin Yousefzadeh
Shahin Yousefzadeh, DDS is a passionate and skilled general and cosmetic dentist at Gentle Care Dentists at the convenient location in Arlington, Virginia.
Dr. Yousefzadeh (Dr. Y) was raised in California before moving to the DC area 10 years ago. He then continued his studies at the University of Southern California, a highly ranked dental school. During his training, Dr. Yousefzadeh gained a special appreciation for helping underserved communities needing dental care by volunteering with mobile dental clinics and homeless shelters.
Nowadays, Dr. Yousefzadeh finds it an honor and privilege to be part of a profession he loves, which gives him the ability to restore not only smiles but self-confidence and quality of life in so many patients. He believes in continuously learning and mastering emerging technologies in the field of dentistry and applying the latest techniques in his practice. At Gentle Care Dentists, we work closely as a team, from the front desk to the hygienist and assistants to provide individualized care and attention to your oral health care needs.
Outside of work, Dr. Yousefzadeh likes to stay active biking, swimming, and playing tennis. In his downtime, he enjoys reading
as well as spending time with family and close friends. He also enjoys traveling and is always looking for his next adventure!

Dr. Yousefzadeh (Dr. Y) was very patronizing, unprofessional, and rude. I have never been treated so poorly by a medical professional. He has no bedside manner, and refused to help me. I would not recommend going to him even if you can’t get an appointment with anyone else.

The staff treats you as though you are a burden for booking an appointment. The wait was less than 30mins but they seemed eager to not see me because they couldn’t verify my insurance. Even going to the length of questioning me on if I was sure that I was still employed by my company. This issue was that it was a holiday and they weren’t able to verify the insurance. However I booked the appointment 2weeks in advance and completed the necessary documentation prior to the visit. They called and emailed me several times to confirm but never mentioned an issue with speaking with my insurance. I was promised a follow up which never happened and when I followed up they stopped answering my calls. I reached out to my insurance and they never received anything from them. In a nutshell this dental practice is a joke and a waste of your time.

The experience at this office was awful. The receptionist and the staff didn't speak when I walked in the door, even though there was literally no one in the office
The dental hygienist was rude and unprofessional.My hygienist made such a fuss about wearing a face mask, as if that is a lot to ask when someone is literally breathing in your face and ripped my mouth open. She gawked when I told her how many cavities I had and was so condescending. Mark my words, I will never step foot in this office again.

Very rude and disrespectful. I had an emergency and conveyed the confusion I experienced. She was unsympathetic and just plain rude. She was trying to get me to get my teeth cleaned when I had a cracked tooth issue.

I recently had a tooth chip while eating. A quick call to Dr Yousefzadeh's office and I was in right away. Dr Y got my tooth fixed in no time and I cannot speak highly enough of the quality work he does. Glad to know my dental health is in good hands.

Dr Y is the jam! He is fast and efficient. The staff are great as well. Nobody really loves going to the dentist, but Dr Y and the staff make it a more pleasant experience.

The dentist was good - the hygienist was not. I stated on my forms & in person to the hygienist I was there for a check-up but also I was concerned about sharp pain in one of my lower left molars. During cleaning, the instrument touched the affected molar & I yelled in pain. The hygienist said I needed to keep my tongue out of the way (like it was my fault). Then all of a sudden she yelled, "Oh my God!" - several times - and freaked out because she saw my tooth crack in half. She kept exclaiming she had never seen anything like it. Meanwhile, I - the patient - tried to remain calm during her outbursts (although I was shocked & nervous) & I pulled the broken tooth half off of my tongue. The hygienist kept saying, "That's unsaveable!" Yeah, I figured that, but you could have been a bit more sensitive. The dentist assessed the situation & unfortunately had to extract the tooth which he did quickly & efficiently. Even so, I will be looking elsewhere for dental implant options.
