“Overall, great experience. Staff was welcoming and friendly. The dental hygienist that did my cleaning and X-rays was great and efficient. The chairs have massaging in them. The dentist was good too and explained the recommended treatment.
The only negative is they try to sell me on an anti-inflamation treatment that wasn't covered by insurance. But you can say no and they don't try to hard sell you.”

With 25 years of service as a dentist and having served thousands of patients, it is truly a privilege. :)
Serenity Dental Spa was founded by Dr. Sheila Shahabi in 2006. A dental care practitioner since 1999, Dr. Shahabi earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco. While working in private practice throughout the Bay Area, she began developing a new dental-care concept based on proactive patient relationships, a deep respect for the environment, and her desire to provide service in a welcoming, spa-like setting. Serenity Dental Spa is the culmination of these ideas.

The forms I filled out with zocdoc were not used by the office so extended the time; didn’t know there was an issue with my insurance until I was in the office even though I submitted it via zocdoc, so took over an hour to be initially seen, and the appointment itself comprised of a very brief x-ray and consultation yet took 3 hours at the beginning of my workday. The staff seemed in no haste whatsoever to see me, and the bedside manner of the doctor I was assigned was not very pleasant, and was not the provider on Zocdoc. Overall the experience was fine, but three hours for no results for my initial problem (jaw pain) makes me very hesitant to come back or refer anyone here.

The service was excellent. I got my dentures really fast. The staff was friendly and supportive. Central location. The cost of fixing my dentures was high. I wish they accepted Medi-Cal. Except for the high cost, I am very happy with the treatment.

I have been going here for more than a decade. That says it all. This is my dentist’s office, period..
One comment on today’s visit. One of the dentists cut off my question and provided a quick answer. I tried to follow up again, and again, and the dentist cut me off each time. I gave up rather than push. He may have been right, but he never actually heard my full question. My specific question was never answered, and, hence, I wonder why my specific solution to a temporary issue is not appropriate.

Very nice staff! Was able to book an appointment the night before I needed to go. They helped me book me a same date appointment to a specialist for an an emergency root canal that I needed to have.

Aggressively offering services and products that you might not need. They tried to push me to purchase teeth aligners from them for a price 50% higher than competitors. The doctor's moves are rough, the chair is uncomfortable and the equipment malfunctioning. I did dental cleaning and dental fillings. The cleaning wasn't done in full, upper teeth on the inside still had plague and stains after the visit. Dental fillings made my teeth sensitive and painful to bite for 4 weeks already. And I already returned twice for them to remove some excessive filling material as they said it's causing the pain, but it still didn't relieve pain completely. I'm rather unsatisfied than satisfied. I do not recommend them.

I requested follow up regarding their recommendation of treatment and still haven't received it. I waited after my initial consultation was complete and my mouth scanned to learn they wouldn't be doing the cleaning I requested.

Great experience! The staff was very kind and helpful and Dr.Shahabi came to see me at the end and patiently walked me through some treatment plan options. Everyone was also very attentive and my appointment started promptly.
