Dr. Shikha Kanotra was born in New Delhi, India and began her dental journey at the Manipal College of Dental Sciences in Manipal, India. Dr. Kanotra worked in a clinic in New Delhi during her senior year. She was then accepted into the DMD program at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. She enjoyed her time at Harvard and discovered that she wanted to make difference in dentistry on a global level. Shikha would join the Harvard Asian American Dental Association, a group dedicated to providing oral awareness to minorities. She quickly found herself as Vice President of the organization, spearheading two initiatives to screen and educate low-income adults and children in the Boston area. Dr. Kanotra went on to complete general practice residencies at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine and the Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center. She most recently finished a Pediatric Dental Residency at Mount Sinai Hospital. She is presently the global outreach chair for the Unspoken Smiles Foundation, which has her busy writing curriculum involving oral health and preventative care for schools in Haiti, Romania, and India. She was awarded the outstanding undergraduate achievement in the study of prosthodontics and was recognized in the Huffington Post: Origins of Beneficence in 2017. Shikha strives for the opportunities to connect with the next generation of women and looks to be force of change both in her work and the world.
