About Dr. Shirley Mathew
Dr. Shirley E. Mathew received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from the University of the Pacific, San Francisco, California. She has been practicing in California and Texas and moved to this location in April 1998. Dr. Mathew cares deeply about long-term dental health and demonstrates that concern by belonging to the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Texas Dental Association, and Dallas County Dental Society. She has also recently been awarded the Fellowship of the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Mathew participates in an ongoing program of professional development and continuing education to remain current with advances in the profession and to provide quality patient treatment. When not at work, Dr. Mathew actively participates in church activities and enjoys working with children. She is also a Sunday School teacher.

I have choose this doctor which is 15 miles away from my home, because I thought we could communicate in my native language. But instead of her some other doctor was consulted me. They haven’t contacted or informed me regarding the doctor’s availability.

Yesterday was my first visit with Dr. Mathew and she was amazing! She was very friendly, made me comfortable, and asked me what my goals were for my teeth right away. She then gave me an exam and discussed my treatment plan with me (in non-dentist terms!). I really appreciated her taking the time to explain everything to me and being honest my conditions and what procedures take priority over others. Very grateful to have found a dentist that can see me after work hours and on Saturdays, as well.

The hygienist and the x-ray tech were the two individuals that I met with first and both were personable and attentive. Dr. Matthew came in after my cleaning done by the hygienist to examine my teeth. My interaction with her felt a bit stoic and cold. I don't doubt her capabilities as a dentist but I felt very removed from the situation as a person. I felt that I was strictly a patient.
I appreciate her professionalism but there was no real welcoming warmth. In addition to that, the front office initially gave me the incorrect estimates for my insurance and that was a frustrating.

Great staff, good service and the latest technology. Expensive pricing. They make it very easy though, with in house, no interest financing.

The staff makes you feel comfortable as soon as you come in, the doctor is friendly and explains everything very well as your appointment progresses. All this plus a beautiful view while you're in the chair. If you have to go to a dentist - try Dr. Mathew, you won't be disappointed.
