Nice, clean but small storefront office in a convenient neighborhood. My daughter was the patient so I can’t speak to Dr. Prakash’s bedside manner other than she seemed thorough, so that’s a plus. Office staff was friendly and efficient. There was only one other person in the waiting area when we arrived but it was full by the time her appointment ended. Mostly families with younger children.

Dr. Prakash is an NYU and Columbia-educated dentist and has been practicing dentistry in the area for nearly 10 years. She is committed to making sure that you have a pleasant experience and pain-free dentistry!
Our team is dedicated to making sure you have a convenient and pleasant journey to a beautiful smile. We have a highly-trained team of dentists, hygienists, oral surgeons, assistants, and admin staff with over 50 combined years of experience in the field.
We welcome new patients to this office.
-All new patients will need to have an exam, cleaning, and x ray done on their first visit. Please allot approximately 90 minutes for this appointment.
-Please allow extra time for filling out paperwork and verifying insurance. This can take up to 15 minutes to 45 minutes depending on your insurance carrier.
-Our cleanings are done by our hygienist on Mon, Tues, Weds and Thurs
-If you need any treatment we will try to complete the work if time permits.

Dr. Prakash was so friendly and reassuring. She took the time to thoroughly explain my dental exam and recommendations. She’s one of the only doctors I’ve seen in NYC who doesn’t seem like she’s in a rush to move onto the next patient, so I felt comfortable to ask her questions.
She also was willing to explain all the costs with my insurance and give me suggestions based on my medical history.
My dental hygienist, Mariam, was also great — very nice, thorough, and considerate. I needed a deep cleaning and was afraid it might be very painful, but she numbed the area (which other dentists don’t seem to do) and her demeanor really calmed me down.
I would definitely recommend people come to this practice.

I first visited Best Dental about a year ago and it was amazing. I was dealing with some gum sensitivity and Dr Prakash took her time to listen to my problems and recommended a quick and simple treatment. I’ve been pain free ever since then. Dr Prakash and the staff at Best Dental have given me the best dental experience I have had in years. The staff are very polite and friendly and leave me looking forward to my next visit every time.

I had a great experience. As somebody who is very nervous about the dentist’s office and is apprehensive about going to new doctors, I could not recommend this office more highly.
Every single person who I saw (front desk, nurses/X-ray techs/the doctor herself) was so friendly and immediately put me at ease. The teeth cleaning was fast and painless and the x-rays did not take too long.
Dr. Prakash is so friendly and welcoming and gave me exactly the right advice on how to best take care of my teeth. Could not recommend more highly! Thank you!

Wow this place is the worst!!! I had to wait 3 mins to be seen...unacceptable wait time. NEVER GOING BACK!!! Hahaha I never really write reviews but this place was really nice, and so it deserved it. First and foremost BEST DENTIST EVER ! She is gentle, professional and does a fantastic job. I got 2 fillings neither bothered nor hurt. I was even able to come the next day to get the other one done! NOTE NOTE !! Many people say you wait a long time ! ?? this is true but only if you go after 1ish and on the busiest moments. I went during mid week at 12ish I was the only one their. (It’s not her fault she is a good dentist) anyways definitely choose she good at what she does.

The decor and ambiance left a little to be desired; luckily that’s not really what I came for. The receptionists, hygienists and doctors were all very professional, efficient and kind. I came here because I felt that the place I was going to downtown was overcharging me, and I’m happy that I made the switch, because Dr Prakash has discovered that I grind my teeth and need a night guard- accordingly, I need a lot of additional work done. She’s really great and is helping me work that all out with my insurance.

Second time coming to this office and Dr. Prakash doesn’t disappoint. It seemed to be a busy day in the office but still she gave me personalized attention and I felt like I was the only one in the office, mind you every room was packed. She’s sweet and gentle. Best office in Harlem.

I took my two (2) year old for his first dental check up and aside from the visit being a great one it was the fastest check up that I could have ever remember from any doctor's visit. Truth be told, I felt a little bad for Dr. Prakash when my son started to cry and not show her his teeth. She tried to examine my sons mouth so she brought in a stuffed yellow dragon call Banana, the cutest thing, didn't do much though but she still got the job done at a loving and professional way towards a child. Thanks Dr. Prakash. I most definitely recommend this Dentist to everyone..!

Amazing doctor and staff. Dr. Prakash answered all my questions and showed me tooth by tooth what exacted needed to get done. I’ve never had an exam that was this detail oriented. We started some of the work and it was painless.

I was not too pleased with this office, the staff and the doctor where not too bad, the issue was that after i left i went to my orthodontics and they asked me to go get another cleaning because they left my teeth dirty so that's unacceptable specially since i brush 4x/day(braces) . They took over an hour to see me, and i over heard a lady say she was on her lunch break to hurry up and they saw her before me. I spent over 2hrs and the doctor took 10 minutes with me.

Honestly the best medical office I’ve ever been to. Fast is an understatement. My appointment was scheduled for 12:30 PM by 12:50PM I was already getting my teeth cleaned. The staff is extremely polite, professional and respectful. Tanu Prakash, DDS is literally the best. She makes sure you’re comfortable and that your experience is a breeze. Also very understanding and nice. I can go on and on, highly recommended.

She was great, but I was turned down to be her patient because I? didn’t want to get fill ins for my own belief staying on high sugar processed food diet and experience with nutrition I know It wouldn’t be great for my teeth so I didn’t want anything artificial in them. If you want a more holistic approach I
don’t think she is the ideal dentist.

5 Stars All The Way! Dr. Prakash is an amazing dentist. She is personable and professional. Very thorough and proactive about mainting my pearly whites healthy. We discussed my concerns during the consultation, and she put my mind at ease. I came in super nervous and left impressed and happy. This is fantastic office to come and have dental services done.

Be warned though: make sure your insurance covers most major procedures but they'll let you know.

The Doctor was great but the service of the service of the staff left something to be desired. I have been to this office twice with 10am appointments and it takes forever for things to get rolling. Appointments shouldn’t be scheduled before 10:30am if you’re not going to be ready before than.

She completely waisted my time. She said i required a root canal but for some unapparent reason, her “individual process” takes months to perform, despite the fact that my insurance was willing to approve the procedure within 24hrs. Complete non sense.
