Tara is an excellent dentist. She is very competent, personable and professional. She is very thorough with her work, communicative in explaining her procedures, knowledgeable, and takes great care that the patient is comfortable. She gave clear instructions for after-care, and set expectations appropriately. Her office is very organized and friendly - I have never had to wait past my appointment time in my three visits. She is the best dentist I have ever had - I highly recommend her.

Dr. Byrd has always believed in treating her patients the way she herself would want to be treated. Her patients and colleagues describe her as warm, sincere, professional, and thorough.
Originally from the Midwest, Dr. Byrd attended the University of Michigan, where she received both her undergraduate and dental degrees. Wanting to expand her horizons, she headed to New York City, where she completed a one-year fellowship in advanced dentistry at New York Medical College – Metropolitan Hospital. Almost a decade later, her dedication to learning continues. Dr. Byrd strives to stay up to date with the latest advancements in dentistry and takes pride in furthering her knowledge through numerous continuing education courses and programs.
In addition to treating patients, Dr. Byrd is known for teaching at New York University College of Dentistry. In the clinical setting, she guides students through decision-making pathways and demonstrates how to provide comprehensive care of the highest quality standard in an attentive and mindful manner.

Today was my first visit with Dr Tara Byrd. Apart from her medical skills, right away, I felt the the human connections from her conversation. She's a very caring person, very detail. She explained my condition with passion and made me feel very comfortable. I believe good hospitality is important between patient & doctor's relation. I really liked Dr. Byrd. She talked me through My x-rays and everything she did. I liked that she numbed my gums with a topical analgesic before cleaning them. I would recommend her.

Dr. Byrd is a true gem. She is extremely sweet and an excellent dentist. I felt very comfortable and at ease with her, which is important to me because I'm kind of chicken when it comes to going to the dentist!
I have had regular cleaning and a filling done so far. She really takes care in her work - I have had some unpleasant experiences in the past even getting regular cleanings, but with Dr. Byrd, I felt no pain. The practice is very patient oriented - they even provide you with sunglasses to wear because of the bright overhead light dentists must use. Dr. Byrd made sure to check in with me to make sure I was comfortable during the appointment, and she told me exactly what she was doing during the procedures. She remembers that you're a person in an uncomfortable position, and treats you with empathy.
When we discussed the dental procedures, it was clear she is very smart and up to date on best practices. I also very much appreciated that she treated me with a positive approach -- I don't have a perfect history of going to the dentist (see "chicken" above), and Dr. Byrd is not into shaming of patients the way some other dentists may be. She makes her recommendations respectfully, explaining the reasons why a specific treatment is the best way to go.
Office staff are friendly, and I like that the practice communicates with you over email and over text.
Overall, I was impressed with Dr. Byrd and my experience here!

The good: The appointment itself was fine. Dentist explained everything and went into depth and detail.
The bad: the office itself feels run down. All the equipment is new and shiny but the walls/floor could use some sprucing up. The real problem is the wait time. First time I went I waited 20+ minutes for my appointment. Second time I left after 30 minutes of waiting. If you can txt and email appointment reminders you should be able to txt and email that dentists are running behind schedule. I get to appointments on time and I have no time for people that don't respect my time

Dr. Byrd is a wonderful dentist! I feel extremely comfortable with her and she's done a great job putting in a new crown and getting a new night guard made for me. I've almost never had to wait longer than a couple of minutes for my appointments, and the one time I did have to wait a few minutes she was very apologetic and efficient. Highly recommend!

Tara was delightful. Really made me feel comfortable, and was clearly an extremely capable and intelligent dentist. She was honest and thorough, yet didn't make me feel belittled for my less-than-stellar teeth as other dentists have in the past. I look forward to my next visit, which is saying a lot :)

She told us the truth about the condition of Ms. Troedl's mouth. The dentist before was looking to put in two bridges when what she needs is to remove all of her teeth and put in full dentures. All her implants are exposed metal, and gum disease. Thanks for the truth.

My appointment was at 9am. I showed up at 8:50am to allow time to fill out forms before my appointment, and no one was there. I think it's a little strange that the first employee didn't show up to open the doors until right at 9am and the dentist and other employees showed up shortly after. If they don't open their doors till 9am, they probably shouldn't make 9am the first appointment since they need time to set up and get situated.
