About Dr. Tu-anh Vu
Dr. Vu was born in Vietnam and immigrated with her family to America in 1992 to escape the communist regime in her native country. The family settled in Washington, D.C., where she earned a full ride to the prestigious Georgetown Day School and later received the Gates Millennium Scholarship to attend Bryn Mawr College. She graduated from the distinguished University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, earning her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree.
Dr. Vu has a variety of interests, including nonprofit work and cutting-edge research. She completed research in the microbiology department at the University of Pennsylvania under the guidance of Dr. Yan Yuan. Her research focused on the anti-Kaposi Sarcoma-associated herpesvirus activity of topoisomerase II inhibitors, which, in layman's terms, means she was investigating potential drugs to treat Kaposi Sarcoma cancer. She has presented her work at several conferences, including the Hinman Meeting in Memphis.
In terms of nonprofit activities, Dr. Vu has worked with Asian American LEAD and Sister to Sister/Hermana A Hermana in Washington, D.C., providing programs to help low-income inner-city youth reach their full potential. Her nonprofit efforts also extend to Philadelphia, where she volunteers with Boat People SOS to support immigrant Vietnamese youth.
Her dedication to nonprofit work has deepened her compassion and empathy, especially for patients who fear visiting the dentist. Dr. Vu enjoys helping patients of all ages overcome dental anxiety and phobia.

The office is clean and the staff is nice and welcoming. Keep in mind that they are out of network for all insurances. Although on Zocdoc, they say that they are in network for specific insurances but they are actually not for any network. You have to pay out of pocket for dental cleaning and other services that your insurance may or may not cover fully!

Excellent excellent! I admit I was hesitant going to the dentist with covid 19 around, but the office was so professional. All precautions were taken and my anxiety disappeared.
