He’s not much of a talker but his work speaks for itself. I’ve had zero issues with my root canal since having it done. Would have another done by him. My only feedback is that my general dentist never received a report regarding the root canal. Please add that in. Otherwise, thanks Dr. Bui!

Dr Bui allowed me time (aprox 20 mnutes) to calm down after I started to panic a little after dental dam was applied. He was patient without judegment, which in itself helped me to settle myself and continue through the root canal. Office staff is nice and office seems calm. This is my second root canal with Dr Bui....I hope I never need another, but, if I did, I would return to Dr. Bui.

After receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from California Polytechnic University at Pomona, Dr. Young Bui came to New York for dental school. He attended Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery from 1994-1998, where he received his doctoral degree. After graduation, Dr. Bui did a year of residency at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center in the Bronx. He then returned to Columbia University for his training in endodontics from 1999-2001.
Dr. Bui is currently a member of the American Dental Association, New York County Dental Society, and New York State Dental Association.
His philosophy of root canal is “mind over matter.” Get the fear out of your patient’s mind and nothing else will matter. Having a good sense of humor is important in reducing the patient’s fear of the dentist. Help your patient laugh the fear away.

One of the most unpleasant medical experiences I've ever had. He spent the whole time looking at a computer screen behind the chair at my x-rays, which I could not see, talking at the computer screen instead of me. Made no effort to show or explain what he was saying. When I asked a lot of questions he just kept saying "As I already TOLD you" and repeating the same thing. I had to drag information out of him. The whole thing was so stressful. In the end he thought I might need to see a different endo to do a particular procedure but wouldn't refer me to someone else unless he tried first and failed, which, no way!
I also do not like their billing practices, where you have to keep a credit card on file for them to charge later if insurance doesn’t go through.

Incredible dentist for root canals and very nice. His shots are almost painless and he does a great job. I've had about 6 root canals with him and won't go to anyone else. He's wonderful.

Saved my tooth

This was my 2nd root canal with Dr. Young Bui and he never fails to impress. I experienced NO WAIT TIME upon my arrival and was quickly anesthetized in preparation for my procedure. The whole thing took about 90 minutes and I was able to pick up my pain/swelling medication right away. Today is day 1 post-op and I am feeling great! I only needed to take 1 of the prescribed painkillers last night after the anesthetic wore off and today I am just on light dosage of ibuprofen. Understandable that everyone's pain level/experience is different, but I give Dr. Bui's technique 5 STARS where that is concerned. There is also no visible swelling so I didn't feel self-conscious about taking mass transit to work this morning. Thank you Dr. Bui!!

My appointment with Dr. Bui was very disappointing. My dentist referred me for a root canal re-treatment consultation. It was the weirdest most uncomfortable experience I ever had in a dentist office. Getting him to talk was like pulling teeth (no pun intended). He appeared not the least bit interested and even irritated that I was even sitting in his chair. To say the least, the visit was a complete waste of my time and money. I wasn't any more informed than when I walked in the office.
On the plus side, his assistant and receptionist were very professional and pleasant.

Excellent endodontist! My dentist had told me I needed 2 root canals, but after seeing Dr. Bui, I found out I didn't actually need the root canals and only needed a crown. So glad I went to him instead of the out of network endodontist my dentist recommended! I might have 2 root canals I didn't need otherwise. He was great about explaining everything! He also fixed an old root canal that had become infected.

Hands down to this guy! This guy really knows what he's doing. He spent more than the allowed time for a root canal. He found the small canal that the last guy missed. I don't have any pain since leaving his office. I was in excruciating pain when I arrived. This guy's office was also like space Odyssey. Everything is clean and up to date. I have to have two root canals and will definitely have the second one with him. I'm referring everyone to him. Plus, he has Sunday appointments. Yes, I saw him on Sunday!

We initially had a problem with communication and my appointment had to be rescheduled. Fortunately, it was rescheduled to later that day.
Dr. Bui and his staff were very nice and did their best to help me with anything I needed. The office is very modern and luckily the doctor was able to fix my teeth in one visit instead of too.

I went to Dr. Bui for a second opinion after being told I would need an extraction, sinus lift, and implant for one of my molars. He told me that all I needed was a routine root canal and scheduled me in for the next afternoon. He performed the root canal which ended up being much more extensive, due to how many canals were in my tooth (4)! If not for the extra canals we would have been done in an hour, he stayed with me for two extra hours to make sure he did a thorough job, without changing the quote he'd given me. I'm very grateful that I found him.

He was attentive and a true professional. I called Dr. Bui the weekend before my appointment as my tooth pain was unbearable, he agreed to squeeze me in early saturday morning to take care of it. I was so pleased. My husband used him years ago and we searched the internet so I knew he was the BEST for root canals.
Unfortunately, my husband was sick staurday morning and I had to cancel my saturday appointment. Dr. Bui was understaniding and even called in prescriptions to deal with the pain. I apperaed for my original appointment on Monday and the root canal was PAINLESS. I was totally shocked amd almost feel asleep on the chair.
I would total recommend him.

Very professional, clean office, friendly staff. Went in for a consultation for a root canal retreatment, was seen quickly. Dr. Bui explained everything so I clearly understood my options. I appreciate that they let me see the X-rays and see how the doctor diagnosed my condition.

Ran in to see the doctor during work hours for swelling around my wisdom tooth. He saw me in seconds, and I like the fact that instead of recommending surgery, or antibiotics the doctor recommended a less invasive fix. Turns out, it was just plaque. I highly recommend Dr.Bui

Dr. Bui has performed two root canals on two separate occassions. Each time the procedure healed quickly and my dental health improved dramatically. I wouldn't recommend anyone else to perform a root canal.

Great doctor, great office staff. I made an appointment with Dr. Bui for a dental emergency and they took care of me right away, fixed me up within 30 minutes, and had me on my way. No nonsense doctor and explains what he will be doing before the procedure.

I had to refill out forms although I had already filled them out online. The receptionist told me that Dr. Bui required that I provide credit card information and authorize future unknown payments in case my insurance did not cover anything. Only after I refused and started to leave did she say, in fact, it wasn't required, just appreciated. Finally, when I was finally sitting in the dentist's chair 45 minutes after my appointment time, the dentist informed me that he wasn't sure whether my insurance would cover the cleaning, although he had known all my insurance information and service request for ten days prior. Yet, he was telling me for the first time 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment.
