About Dr. Zachary Schonfield

Hey there, I'm Dr. Zachary Schonfield! I'm an upstate New York native who studied biology at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, where a fascination with marine science eventually took me all the way to Australia. That love of exploring new places (and things) followed me to Baltimore, where I earned my dental degree at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society. From there I dove into a six-year dual degree oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center, earning my medical degree in 2016 along the way. My training covered pretty much everything in the OMS world: wisdom teeth and other extractions, dental implants, pathology, orthognathic surgery, TMJ surgery, and hands-on maxillofacial trauma experience at the renowned R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. After a stint back home in New York, I moved to the seacoast of New England to put down roots! When I'm not in the office, you'll probably find me underwater. I'm an avid scuba diver, and I love combining that with my other passion: photography. Traveling with my wife rounds out the list. If it involves an adventure and a camera, I'm probably there.
