Michael J. Pitman MD is the Director of the Division of Laryngology and the Director of The Voice and Swallowing Institute in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. Dr. Pitman provides comprehensive care in all aspects of Laryngology including such disorders as laryngotracheal stenosis, vocal fold paralysis, swallowing disorders, spasmodic dysphonia, laryngopharyngeal reflux, chronic cough, vocal fold polyps, nodules and cysts and care of the professional voice.
Dr. Pitman received his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine where he graduated as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. During his tenure there, Dr. Pitman was the recipient of a research grant from the American Academy of Otolaryngology.
Dr. Michael Pitman is the Director of the Division of Laryngology and the Voice and Swallowing Institute at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. Dr. Pitman graduated of Albert Einstein College of Medicine with honors. He completed his otolaryngology residency at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and was a fellow in Laryngology and Care of the Professional Voice at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Pitman is a recognized expert in voice restoration, conservation and care of the professional voice as well as in the care of swallowing and airway disorders. Dr. Pitman has authored numerous articles for peer reviewed journals as well as book chapters, and he has lectured internationally in the field of laryngology.

I would have preferred if Dr. Pitman had given us more information on what his overall, long-term plan of care was. As is common with doctors, we had a very long wait and a very short visit. The staff was nice and the office was clean.
