About Dr. Rodolfo Tejada
Dr. Rodolfo Tejada, affectionately known as “Dr. T,” was born in Gainesville, Florida, but grew up in Guatemala City, Guatemala. At 16, he started his own catering company, which he grew while creating an event planning business. As he managed both ventures full-time, Dr. Tejada also pursued his passion for dentistry by attending dental school at Universidad Francisco Marroquin.
Soon after graduation, Dr. Tejada left his businesses and extended family behind to travel back to the United States and finish his studies in dentistry. He was accepted into the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program at the University of Connecticut for one year. Due to his outstanding performance in his first year, he was offered an extended option for a second year, which he proudly accepted. After the AEGD residency, Dr. Tejada was admitted to the University of Alabama at Birmingham pediatric dental residency program.
Dr. Tejada offers frenectomy services for newborns and children through adulthood.
Working with children had always been his dream. Being a father himself, he understands the concerns and questions parents often have regarding dental health care. His goal is to provide the best personalized treatment for each child. To him, each child is unique, and he has a one-patient-at-a-time philosophy, focusing all of his energy on the child he’s treating. Dr. Tejada is board certified and strongly encourages preventive care. He educates parents and children on proper hygiene and diet to promote oral health.
Dr. Tejada’s favorite tip to share is: “Always finish with water, after every meal and snack! It’s a marvelous trick that helps deter cavities and gum disease.”
In his free time, Dr. Tejada enjoys being with his children, Paulina, Adriana, Amanda, and son Nicolas and his best friend and wife Daniela. He is a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Real Madrid soccer. Because of his catering experience, he also likes to host parties at his house.
