“Dr. Janelle Louis has helped me improve my mental health in ways that my former psychiatrist could not. She focuses on a holistic approach and I believe that is what made the difference. She understands that the body affects the mind and vice versa, and she doesn’t just rush to prescribe more pills. She listens and it’s clear that she really cares. With her recommendations, my mental health improved significantly, and then she worked with me to taper off the medication when I didn’t need them anymore. I am now mentally and emotionally doing better than ever. Thank you Dr. Louis for truly listening and for respecting your patients’ choices!”

Getting to know Dr. Janelle Louis

*I do not start patients on benzodiazepines or stimulants* Hi, I’m Dr. Janelle Louis. I'm a psychiatric nurse practitioner (AZ) and licensed naturopathic doctor (VT) with 9 years of combined experience in integrative mental health. I specialize in helping children and adults with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, trauma, PMDD, and other concerns find real, lasting healing—mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Maybe you’ve tried meds, therapy, or holistic options in the past—and nothing has brought the relief you were hoping for. Perhaps it’s time you try a different approach... What if a more integrative, personalized plan that may include medication, but also includes therapy and attention to root causes like trauma, stress, gut health, and hormones is what would finally help you feel whole again? I help children, adolescents, and adults find lasting relief through a holistic, personalized approach to mental health. My services include: * In-depth psychiatric evaluations to uncover the root causes of your symptoms * Thoughtful medication management, when needed, with an emphasis on minimizing side effects * Safe, supportive de-prescribing—helping you gradually and carefully taper off psychiatric medications when appropriate * Supportive psychotherapy and counseling to help you process, heal, and grow * Integrative treatment plans that blend modern psychiatry with holistic care for mind and body * Convenient telehealth appointments, so you can access care from the comfort of your home My commitment to looking at the whole person is what sets me apart. With training in both conventional psychiatry and naturopathic medicine, I dig deep to uncover root causes and design a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your goals and values. Ready to take the next step? Book your appointment today. It would be my privilege to walk alongside you on your health journey.

What should a new client know about working with you?

*I do not start patients on benzodiazepines or stimulants* I work with children and adults (ages 7+) to uncover and address the underlying causes of their concerns. I am currently serving patients who reside in the state of Arizona. An initial appointment with me is typically 60 minutes in length, and the typical follow-up appointment is usually 45 minutes. I provide integrative psychiatric care, medication management, and therapy, and I am looking forward to working with you!

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, we’ll begin with a comprehensive psychiatric diagnostic evaluation. Through our conversation, I'll take the time to really understand your history, your current challenges, and your goals for the future. If you haven't had recent blood work done, we may need to get baseline labs. By the end of this session, you’ll have a clearer picture of what may be going on beneath the surface and a personalized plan for moving forward. Depending on your needs, that may include therapy, medication management, holistic strategies, or a combination of these modalities. My goal is to make sure you leave that very first meeting feeling heard, supported, and hopeful, with a clear path toward healing and lasting change. If we collaboratively decide that therapy will be part of your plan, you can expect a compassionate, collaborative environment where you’re encouraged to take an active role in the healing process. Our work together will be focused on not just addressing immediate concerns, but also on empowering you to develop healthier thought patterns, manage stress more effectively, and cultivate a sense of balance and well-being in all aspects of your life. Whether it’s through integrative medication management or transformative psychotherapy, our goal is to create sustainable improvement—helping you feel more self-aware, more in control, and better equipped to navigate life’s challenges. Ultimately, my goal is to help you not just survive, but truly thrive, with the tools and insights you need to continue your growth long after our work together.
