About Dr. David Goldfarb

*Dr. Goldfarb will gladly see patients from ages 12 years old and up.* David Goldfarb, DO, FACS, is a specialist who wears many hats – an innovator and an inventor. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, completed his internship there, and finished his residency in General Surgery at Drexel University. As the first Medical Director of the Voice Center at the University Medical Center at Princeton, he introduced state-of-the-art equipment for diagnosing vocal problems to Princeton. Previously, patients had to travel to Philadelphia or New York City to access this technology for a detailed, objective evaluation of vocal cord activity. Dr. Goldfarb recently invented a new experimental wearable device for treating obstructive sleep apnea. The device works by restoring the normal resting tone to throat and tongue muscles to keep the airway open (patent pending). He also invented a laryngeal pacemaker to restore movement to paralyzed vocal cords and has obtained a patent for this experimental procedure. Board certified in Otolaryngology, Dr. Goldfarb served as chairman of the Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery Department at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center from 1994 to 2020. He is a Clinical Instructor of Otolaryngology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Additionally, he has been appointed by the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery to several committees, including the Credentials Committee and the Medical Devices and Drug Committees.

Verified patient
Dr. Goldfarb is by far the best doctor. He is knowledgeable and compassionate. If it was not for him, his swift actions, and his knowledge about SSHL, I am most certain that I would be deaf in one ear today, permanently! First, I was able to schedule an appointment the next day when other ENTs told me to wait. ( I later found out that people with SSHL have a small window of time to seek treatment or the condition is permanent). Dr. Goldfarb took all my symptoms seriously. He went out of his way to get me to see audiologist on the same day by calling multiple locations. He also sent me for an MRI. Normally the authorization for MRI takes 7 days and an urgent MRI authorization takes 4 hours. I had mine in just under one hour. I was also put on the right medicine the same day I saw Dr. Goldfarb. His name says it all. He is gold! I am truly fortunate to have found such an amazing doctor. Thank you so much Dr. Goldfarb! I appreciate everything that you have done for me.
Verified patient
Dr. Goldfarb was super friendly and attentive. He listened extremely well and took thorough notes on my condition + symptoms, all while taking his time. It was nice feeling rushed. As he was examining me he explained everything that was happening, which was reassuring for my anxiety. Lastly, he was thorough in his explanation of why he was prescribing certain medications (which as a scientist, I really appreciated this!) overall an excellent communicator and knowledgeable doctor :-)
Verified patient
Dr. Goldfarb was professional and very thorough. He clearly explained my condition and the next set of tests needed. He did not rush me and answered all my questions.
Verified patient
Dr. Goldfarb was excellent. He immediately found a solution to my long time nasal issue. Also, working on finding the cause of my tinnitis.
Verified patient
Dr. Goldfarb was efficient and effective at getting to the core of my issue. He ordered some tests and we'll find out what is ailing me next week!
Verified patient
The doctor was very professional and explained everything as it went along. I would recommend him to anyone that needs a good ENT
Verified patient
He is the most impatient, unsympathetic and rude doctor I have ever met. He didn’t want to spend one more minute on the patient. He always interrupted when I was talking about my symptoms. It’s pretty stressful when I was in pain while talking and he expected the patient to talk like a trained professional. During the follow up visit, I haven’t finished my question yet and he said you are fine and then walked out of the room. On the other hand, waiting time is short, as he spends a couple of minutes on most patient.
I had the most painful sore throat of my life and had already had 2 visits to Urgent Care and the ER. The pain continued for weeks with no relief. Dr Goldfarb immediately diagnosed the problem and got me on the appropriate medication and I started to feel better that very afternoon. So grateful.
Dr. Goldfarb was thorough and ordered additional tests in order to explore any possible causes of my symptoms. While he was very busy and his bedside manner could be a bit softer, I didn’t feel that my care was compromised.
First meeting seemed great. I have visited my PCP several times about sinus issues, and Dr Goldfard confirmed immediately that I have a deviated septum, that I have chronic sinusitis, and that one of the nasal passages is completely blocked and infected. He says he is going to straighten me out. I shouldn’t have waited so long.
A true professional
