“I was thrown for a loop when throat cancer treatment ruined my swallowing and recently had a feeding tube inserted in my stomach. I met Dr. B in the hospital where she is helping me understand what my choices are and how to navigate all the myriad feelings of wanting to end my existence and not wanting to deal with these changes. I’m Still working on it and I still have my family. Thank you Dr. B!”

Getting to know Dr. Adena Blickstein

**Please note: Your initial booking will be conducted as a consultation with our intake coordinator.** My name is Adena Blickstein, MD, MPH. I am a licensed clinical child and adolescent psychiatrist who truly believes that every individual has the power to change their life and feel great every day. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from Ruth and Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, Technion Israel Institute of Technology. I completed my residency in psychiatry at Metropolitan Hospital Center, followed by a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Westchester Medical Center. Additionally, I hold a Master's in Public Health from Columbia University. I take a holistic approach to healing and a conservative approach with medication. Working with me involves a 360-degree look at what is contributing to feelings of dis-ease, and together, we will incorporate modalities such as mindfulness practices, dietary changes, and optimization of sleep for true, overall well-being. With my guidance, your family will regain the confidence and know-how to experience the power and wherewithal to heal him- or herself and be whole. I look forward to assisting you and your family on this empowering journey of self-healing.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work on a bioenergetic level to alleviate symptoms in patients. This involves modification of diet, sleep, and incorporation of meditative healing modalities. Body work is also available if warranted.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process involves a comprehensive evaluation with communication and collaboration of all parties involved in patient care; parents, teachers, therapist, and medical providers. I assess patients using traditional "talk" means as well as a energy scan which involves a non-invasive 5-10 minutes scan to understand their energy at the time. This two methodologies allows me to develop a comprehensive plan to guide the patient on the path of symptom alleviation.
