About Dr. Alex Bustamante

Dr Alex Bustamante is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Although a New York City native, he spent his formative years in South America. He went to La Salle high school In Venezuela. After completing medical school in Latin America, he worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver doing clinical medical research. He later finished his internship at the University of Colorado General Surgery Residency Program. Dr. Bustamante completed his Family Medicine Residency at Lynchburg Family Medicine in Lynchburg, Virginia. Dr. Bustamante’s area of interest include treatment of knee osteoarthritis and intra-articular joint injections with the use of fluoroscopy for accurate placement of medications. He is also passionate about preventive medicine. In his days off, he enjoys weight lifting, skiing and trail running
