Dr. Alexander (Alex) Jack joins U.S. Dermatology Partners from the Pacific Northwest. He has been practicing dermatology for four years in a multispecialty group in the Seattle area. He is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology.
Dr. Jack earned his undergraduate degree in biology from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. He traveled west to attend the University Southern California in Los Angeles, where he earned his medical degree and graduated with the highest distinction, in the top five percent of his class. He completed his internship in Seattle at Virginia Mason Medical Center and his dermatology residency in Portland at Oregon Health & Science University, where he served as chief resident.
He discovered the field of dermatology during his first year of medical school after meeting a dermatologist who eventually became his mentor. That enthusiastic physician encouraged Dr. Jack to learn more about the specialty, so he started attending dermatology grand rounds and became fascinated with challenging cases. He then got involved in a dermatology research project and got hooked on the field.
Dr. Jack practices general and medical dermatology and welcomes patients of all ages. He has a particular interest in contact dermatitis and performs comprehensive patch testing to diagnose skin allergies. He is also interested in how adjunctive treatments, such as dietary and lifestyle changes, can improve dermatological conditions. He’s passionate about helping patients improve their quality of life through the treatment of skin conditions.
When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Jack stays active with travel and outdoor adventures, including cycling, hiking, and kayaking. His goal is to visit every U.S. national park (he’s already checked many of the list).

Walking into the office I was not very pleased by the front office. The women did not greet me until I was just standing there looking at her and all she said was “hi” also after giving me my forms to fill out she was talking very loudly to her coworkers about when and what time they were going to go to happy hour. Not very professional . I am a dental assistant and am cross trained in the front office as well and I would have never acted like that around multiple patients. Besides that everyone in the back office was amazing from the assignation to the doctor! Thanks!

While I was relieved that no melanoma was evident, I would have liked for some of the keratosis on my face removed. Dr jack said insurance would not cover cosmetic “decorations” and seemed to assume I couldn’t pay. I felt very dismissed. Also the prescription for ointment was not even called to pharmacy.

Dr. Jack was very thorough and made me feel extremely comfortable throughout the entire exam. He took the time to address my concerns and to explain in detail what was going on. I would highly recommend Dr. Jack and will be back for further treatment.

Dr. Jack was great at explaining everything to me and the wait time was very short. He gave me a couple options but was not pushy in any way about the decision I should make. He was also proactive in providing me information regarding what to keep an eye out for when it comes to skin cancer.
The only thing I didn't care for was the receptionist blowing her nose as I walked in and then not using sanitizer before handing me papers and taking my insurance card. With the flu spreading the way it has this season, I would expect medical professionals to be a little more careful about spreading germs to patients.

The doctor was polite and thorough. I was satisfied with his recommendations and treatment. If I could rate the front desk receptionist, I would give her a 0. Instead of greeting me warmly, she said " And you are?" Then I told her my appointment time was 3:30 pm but she quickly and rudely told me it was 3:20 pm. I checked and verified that my Zocdoc appotinemt was indeed 3:30 pm. This experience makes me not want to return to this dermatologist.
