I had multiple sessions with Dr. Sheppe, and not once did he leave me wondering in which direction I should head. His responses to my questions were so thorough, accurate, and reassuring that I was able to take the steps necessary to improve my health. PHILOSOPHY
The world can be a difficult place, and my calling is to help by getting to know you as a human being with a story. I specialize in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry — I treat a wide range of ages and difficulties. There are times when the careful use of medication may be helpful and even life-saving — and medication may not always address the needs of the whole person. I can also help you write and rewrite your story with an integration of compassion, common sense, and years of training in a variety of evidence-based psychotherapies. EXPERTISE
I am board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and I have advanced training in the medication management of psychiatric conditions in children, adolescents, and adults. I also have advanced training in a variety of psychotherapy modalities including psychoanalytic psychotherapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, supportive psychotherapy, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), and prolonged exposure therapy for PTSD. I have also completed intensive training in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) with Marsha Linehan's Behavioral Tech Company, and I have experience practicing DBT with adolescents and adults.

A lot of doctors will only tell you what you want to hear, but Dr. Sheppe will do more than that. Dr. Sheppe is honest and down-to-earth, balancing truth about tough changes that will help you with comfort and compassion. I appreciate him doing the hard work of change with me.
