About Dr. Alexander Zuhoski

Dr. Alexander Zuhoski earned his Bachelor’s degree at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. He graduated from the State University of New York, Stony Brook, with a Doctor of Medicine degree. He completed his residency at Saint Vincent's Medical Center in New York, NY, and later returned to Stony Brook University Medical Center to complete his fellowship in Hematology and Oncology. Growing up, Dr. Zuhoski always knew he wanted to pursue a career in the medical field. He chose Hematology and Oncology because he felt “there were few disciplines where he could make a huge impact on someone’s life” and because he enjoys the “intellectual process of working with patients.” After his fellowship, he joined the Eastern Long Island Hematology Oncology team in 2003. He was drawn to private practice because he believes it “allows him to become closer to his patients.” One of the most rewarding moments and turning points of his career came when he treated both his mother and older sister; they are now both in remission. To him, “every day at the office is phenomenal.” Dr. Zuhoski is board certified in Medical Hematology and Oncology. He is a member of the American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology and serves as a mentor to Hematology residents at Southampton Hospital.

Dr. Zuhoski treated me for anemia and I have been feeling so much more like my old self. I can’t thank him and his staff enough
Dr. Zuhoski only schedules follow ups as he see fits. I appreciate that immensely. My previous hematologist would ask to see me every month. It was a waste of my time. Dr. Zuhoski is an honest doctor and I will never see another hematologist.
My son is a patient of Dr. Zuhoski. Getting him to schedule an appointment has always been a struggle. Dr. Zuhoski is the only hematologist that my son will actually follow through with his appointments. I believe Dr. Zuhoski’s patient nature and experience are to thank.
Very good bedside manner and very intelligent
The best hematologist around.
gave me hope when I had none
