EVALUATION: The first evaluation is comprehensive, takes 2 hours long and may include GENETIC testing; This evaluation is $600. follow up appointments are 1 hour sessions, cost $400. Payment in cash or checks please.

Dr. Valencia is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is bilingual speaking both English and Spanish.
She completed her training at Yale University in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry; her internship at Mount Sinai/North General Program. General Psychiatry Residency at New York Medical College and also a Fellowship at the Personality Disorders institute at Cornell University, Westchester. Being a Medical Doctor and having 3 psychiatric specialties, when necessary, she rules out medical illness that may be causing your psych symptoms.GENETIC TESTING
Patients see her for a variety of reasons, including Child and adolescent conditions and adolescent subcultures, psychiatry consultations, autism, schizophrenia, psychosis, OCD,anxiety/panic disorders, bipolar disorders, depression and mood disorders in general.
She received a "Star Award" during her training at the Yale Child Study Center due to the uncompromising dedication to the well-being of her patients. “Expertise, compassion, listening, putting myself in my patients “shoes” and respecting the dignity of my patients are my main ethical considerations.

Dr. Valencia is a very nice and caring person. She really cares about diagnosing her patients correctly and using the most up to date genomic technology to help in doing so.
Unfortunately, it was quite difficult to submit my out of network claims since she insisted on mailing it in, and filling it out together in person. Some of the paperwork was filled out incorrectly, and there is no way I will be able to get it fixed and be reimbursed before the deadline to submit claims for the previous year. Therefore, I would recommend Dr Valencia if you do not plan to use any out of network insurance.

She is amazing. I discovered using her methods that I had been taking the wrong medication for 20 years. I’ve been in and out of doctors offices for mental health issues since the second grade I cannot tell you how much of a relief working with this doctor has brought. She also addressed nutritional issues and needs as part of a thorough plan of action. If you need help, and have spent decades trying to find something that works- do this. She literally sees me on Saturday at 7pm if I want.

I was very impressed, at my first appt. on 4/30/2016, with Dr. A. Valencia. I was seen promptly at 3:15pm - (NO waiting time) . Dr. Valencia immediately relieved any fears and/or uncertainties I had about seeing this new Doctor. She assured me that she was there to HELP me, and that, in time, she felt I'd return to my former self. Dr. Valencia listened to me very intently, never interrupted, and genuinely seemed to care about me, my health & welfare. Being a somewhat shy person myself, I also relaxed quickly because of her calm, soft spoken and compassionate nature. I would highly recommend Dr. Valencia to other(s),, and I gave her the highest rating. I am actually looking forward to my next appt. with her!

De. Valencia is an amazing psychiatrist. She truly cares for her patients and takes her time to talk to them and find out the best and safest way to help them. She's very understanding and patient and truly loves her job which makes it a pleasure to be one of her patients. Dr. Valencia is very professional, very patient and communicates well with her clients. She developed a great repertoire with my son (which is not easy to do). Dr. Valencia takes her time, studies and make notes on prior client documentation rather than just glossing over it as some Drs. have done with our case in the past. Dr. Valencia is making a strong effort to accommodate me and my son despite my current financial situation. This shows me she cares about her patients and I appreciate that. Although this is my initial visit, I am very confident that my son will finally get the help he truly needs through Dr. Valencia's expertise.
