Getting to know Sarah Spiegel

Many of the struggles we face as adults have roots in earlier experiences, whether it be in relationships, in how we see ourselves, in patterns we can't seem to break. Those experiences may be overwhelming, chronic, and difficult to name. My work centers on helping adults explore and heal those roots, with particular focus on trauma, attachment wounds, and early childhood experiences. I specialize in PTSD and complex trauma (C-PTSD), including trauma related to sexual violence. I'm also passionate about working with adults, especially women, navigating the trauma and identity questions that can accompany a late diagnosis of ADHD or AuDHD, including the grief and reorientation that often follow. My approach is relational and collaborative. I am an EMDRIA-approved therapist, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is my primary modality. I find EMDR to be particularly powerful for trauma that lives in the body or resists talk therapy alone. I also draw on psychodynamic therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and other approaches as your process calls for them. I hold a certificate in trauma counseling and a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University, New England.
