About Dr. Amara Nasir
Dr. Amara Nasir is a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician with subspecialty training in Interventional Pain Medicine, who is dedicated to the comprehensive management of chronic musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain disorders.
At the heart of Dr. Nasir’s practice is a commitment to a comprehensive and evidence-based approach in treating chronic pain conditions. Her patient-centric approach encompasses all aspects of pain medicine, including chronic back pain, neck pain, sacroiliac, peripheral joint pain, and nerve-related pain.
Recognizing the potential risks associated with addictive medications, she tailors individualized treatment plans that prioritize long-term relief and improved functionality. Dr. Nasir has special expertise in performing a variety of minimally invasive procedures aimed at delivering targeted and effective pain relief utilizing the latest advancements in interventional pain management. These procedures include image-guided epidural injections, nerve blocks, joint injections, radiofrequency ablation, spinal cord stimulation, and peripheral nerve stimulation, among others.
Dr. Nasir studied medicine from Shifa College of Medicine. Subsequently, she completed an internship in General Surgery at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, followed by residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center. She then completed a Pain Medicine fellowship at The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Dr. Nasir is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and in Pain Medicine. Dr. Nasir’s research focuses on new interventions and devices for the treatment of pain.
