About Dr. Ameet Thakrar
Dr. Ameet Thakrar, DPM, is a board-certified podiatrist at Vittori Foot & Ankle Specialists and has been in practice for nearly a decade primarily in the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago.
Dr. Thakrar earned his bachelor’s degree at Loyola University Chicago. He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University, followed by an intensive foot and ankle-focused residency at Weiss Memorial Hospital and Cook County Health and Hospital System in Chicago.
Dr. Thakrar received comprehensive training in operative and non-operative treatment of disorders of the foot and ankle. He has supplemented his training with an extensive amount of courses focused on foot and ankle internal and external fixation, wound care, and employs only the most effective evidence-based medical treatments. He is actively involved in the foot and ankle residency program at Weiss Memorial Hospital and takes pride in training resident podiatrists.
In his free time, Dr. Thakrar likes to spend time with his family, golf, and considers himself a foodie. A lifetime resident of the Chicagoland area, he grew up in Chicago’s Northshore and now resides in the Southwest suburbs.

I’ve known Dr.Thakrar for years because my mom was a patient of his for quite a while before she passed away. He was kind enough to send a sympathy card at that time. He is a very good person and is excellent at getting people to relax and not be nervous. I highly recommend him and I personally wouldn’t go to anyone else.

I have been seeing Dr Takkar for a few years for an intermittent foot problem. He is always very good in explaining what he will do in office and what I can do to insure that I maintain wellness by giving me exercises. Be. He is a really nice man and wonderful doctor.

My family has been coming to the office for years. I’ve always seen Dr. Vittori great guy ! I scheduled with Dr Thakrar, as he was available during the time I needed he is extremely nice, professional thorough and doesn’t leave out any details. Painless procedure ! I was very impressed with the entire office experience. I was able to check in online with my health and insurance information beforehand.
