Dr. Aldao is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Founder of Together CBT. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders, OCD, stress, sleep problems, and depression. Dr. Aldao is also an academic researcher with 60+ scientific publications in many of the most prestigious journals in the field of anxiety and stress. In light of her commitment to education and training, Dr. Aldao is currently training Psychiatry Residents delivering CBT to patients at Mount Sinai Hospital. She's also a Visiting Scholar at Columbia University.
Dr. Aldao has worked at the top evidence-based therapy clinics in the country, including Yale Anxiety & Mood Disorders Clinic and the Cognitive Therapy Clinic of the Psychiatry Department of Cornell University New York Presbyterian Hospital. Further, she has provided clinical supervision and training to graduate students getting their PhDs in Clinical Psychology at The Ohio State University. In all, Dr. Aldao brings 15+ years of experience conducting CBT. She has expertise in traditional CBT – including exposure therapy – as well as new, “third wave” CBT approaches, such as acceptance-based approaches, mindfulness-based CBT, and emotion regulation therapy. She also specializes in and teaches exposure and response prevention (ERP) for OCD and habit reversal training (HRT) for body focused repetitive behaviors, such as skin picking and hair pulling.
